Kernel Panic. I've found a workaround for my motherboard/BIOS
combination by passing the: nolapic parameter to the boot string. This

It appears that the crash only occurs when an XMMS derived application
(such as beep-media-player or audacious) is visible on the desktop at

I can confirm that this bug also applies to the Edgy final release. I
tried booting: ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso on my system this morning
(downloaded yesterday), and observed nothing but a blank screen,
followed eventually by a Sync. out of Range message from my monitor.
Judging by the CD-ROM

Ok, it turned out I had xserver-glx from Beryl installed. I've
uninstalled it and installed the Ubuntu xserver-glx and the keyboard
mapping is working better now, although I seem to have lost the keyboard
I had before. Is there any way to rerun the keyboard detection code
that's used when

Um, maybe I'm ust blind or something, but I don't see an option to
change my color depth anywhere in my system settings. I'm using a
Toshiba satellite laptop with a nVidia Gforce4 420 Go, which already
required me to change a bunch of stuff in my xorg.conf to get it to

I can confirm this cosmetic problem is still present in the Edgy final
release.
(there are much BIGGER problems with the Matrox drivers in Edgy, though

Screen corruption/glitch

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 700IFT, it's a CRT monitor that support a
maximum resolution of 1600x1200.
I had this bug with Dapper Drake (i have not tried with other releases)
When I run the live CD or I install from a alternated CD, the login
screen (and the user desktop)

This is only a temp fix to close this bug. Documentation for Adept
should be filed upstream in the KDE bug tracker if it hasn't already.

In step 9 try switching using ctrl+alt+f8, ctrl+alt+f9, ctrl+alt+f7.
Eventually all the screens become blank. I think that it's because the
secondary login user gets placed in ctrl+alt+f9, where as before it used
to be placed in ctrl+alt+f8,
