Here is a udev rule that works. To improve this further, udev (vol_id)
should be extended to detect fakeraid members, so that the rule could be
written to only trigger when relevant block devices are discovered.

Same problem.
I solved it by editing /etc/network/interfaces
I deleted all lines except for:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
Now the NetworkManager applet works correctly.

take it. Does this include the above patch (the one that I'm on now,
that fixed my system)? I see Bug #96857 and Bug #99648 referenced in
the changelog, but no Bug #82314. :) Regardless, thanks for all your
work Kyle,

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox
firefox 2.0.0.3+1-0ubuntu2
I have ad adsl 4mbit connection that sometimes has bandwidth problems and
behaves like a 56k or less.
In these moments when I try to load pages, firefox eats 50% of the cpu, and the
processor speed is maxed to 100%
Thank you for your bug. They don't use gnome-vfs, that's not an
application bug, no need to open one for gimp though, that's already
known
