I switched back to Ubuntu's Nvidia driver now. I do understand kernel
developer's hate for non-gpl drivers and Ubuntu's hate for drivers that
don't ship with it :)

isntalled using the selfcontained package downloaded from nvidia. And this
ofcause failed as well. So the only solution is to uninstall the nvidia driver

Here it is after sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. Interestingly, it
worked this time at 1024x768! The only quirk was that it says in the
preferences that the refresh rate was 50; yet the monitor itself, and
the nvidia-settings, said that it was 75. I used nvidia-settings to fix
the refresh rate

I have a very similar problem with my DVB-T card from Hauppauge (Nova-T model
928). It work perfectly under edgy, but not singel frame under feisty.
The card is found by the kernel (dmesg), but no dvb driver are loaded and of
course no dvb folder is registered under /dev/dvb.
A workaround is

Can you please post a screenshot of the overlap? Please note that
notification bubbles that point to a certain widget (e.g. to the
notification-area) can not easily overlap because of the constrain with
the pointing.

Indeed, you lose the access to the CDROM if you don't load ata_piix.
The important thing here is to load ata_piix after ahci (that's why ata_piix
is blacklisted).

instead of all 40-something megabytes of kernel source. Once I got the
full sources, I did a grep -r protocol.h . (after reading the grep man
page :p) to find out where they are (lack of direct path like /usr/src

Thank you for your bug. When does it happen exactly? Only when importing
the directory? Do you have any error if you run rhythmbox -d? Could
you get a log with GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 GST_DEBUG=3 rhythmbox log
when triggering the bug? Trying with the new 7.04 would be nice
