since KBabel debian package (deb) doesnt have Gettext as it requirement,
Gettext is not installed automacally. Every time you try to save a .po
file, KBabel alerts about missing Gettext package. the file seems to be
saved normally.

gconf key to the same value it already has should trigger an update, the
efficient way is to no make any change when not required. As a
workaround you can try to set the value to something else and then back
to the value you want

Yes, I did but it results in Error 25. But I just tried to boot with the
Debian HDD plugged in (I can choose a boot medium from a Boot selection
popup menu of my mainboard) and it worked! I don't know why especially
because the Debian HDD wasn't plugged in when I installed Ubuntu. But

Hi,
I have Kubuntu 7.04 installed on my laptop (fresh install) with Beryl
decorations and effects used. Everything seems to be fine except that
for some reason after boot up some icons in task bar simply do not show
up. For example I have KNetworkManager running
OK I think I got things to work much better. I had installed rails using
apt-get (which happen to get me version 1.2.1). Uninstalled that and
reinstalled it using gem instead (now getting version 1.2.3). Updated
the paths in Window - Preferences... - Rails - Configuration to point

Thanks! I see now that the example was not working because fscanf had
simply continued onwards and wasn't finding the information correctly
formatted and hence did not set the value. However, if you correct that
mistake the original problem still exists (file attached).

Same problem with Kubuntu Feisty {and Edgy} on Dell Inspiron 700m. The
lid state {/proc/acpi/button/lid/*/state} is always reported as closed
and hal doesn't detect any lid event {no output from `lshal -m`}.

Could you describe what you mean by system freeze. Ie, what did you
had on screen ? Was it just blank ?
Also, have you tried doing Ctrl-Alt-F1 to switch to a virtual console,
or Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace to kill the X server ? If you press the CapsLock
key, do the corresponding LED on your keyboard
I'm seeing this bug with the Plastik style. Managed to get a screenshot
using a time delay in KSnapshot, which is attached.

yes that's clear. hibernate and resume works with compiz disalbed but
not with it enabled. nvidia card with nvidia binary driver.

It sounds to me as though this is a different problem entirely from the
one that it is marked as a duplicate of: the fix you mention implies a
problem with was with the NVidia card, whereas in bug #110662
Identical problem.
