Not sure if this is related; or will help with my rtl8187:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/124801
But I will give it a try next time my wireless networking stops working
and see if this has any effect, and will report my results.

wireless stops working
One remark I have an IBM z60m with an ATI graphics card. When the
harware problem appearded with feisty, the CPU, the mother board and the
graphic card have been destroyed. I'm sorry to seems a little bit
narcissic but, for my point of view, a destruction of this scale of the
hardware is not high
On gutsy:
1. the extract button works again (yah!)
2. drag and drop to an archive works (i think that never broke)
3. drag and drop from an archive to nautilus or the desktop still does not work
So the most important issue (what this bug was about: the extract button
not working) has been fixed,
Can you please see if you can reproduce using version
1.5.0.13-0ubuntu0.7.04 and maybe try a new profile. If you can grab a
crash report that will also help us track down your issue. Please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs/ for more info on the above.
