to flat file fixes alot of problems. For example, the auto raise on

seconds on load of these pages. For me these prolems surfaced after the
last flashplugin-nonfree update just before release of Gutsy. I have
reinstalled the nonfree flash several times without it solving this bug.

Well, if I add the line
SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz
into /etc/xdg/compiz/compiz-manager then I can start compiz and it seems to
work, but
1. When trying to run compiz via System--Preferences--Appearance, Visual
Effects is stills displays Desktop Effects Can't be enabled error

Please do not use the gnome tools (they will make an xorg.conf), just
delete the old xorg.conf. After restarting X, and once the failsafe
things have started a new vesa session, the ati log will be
Xorg.0.log.old

I have the same problem as Goffredo Baroncelli, on a Dell Latitude D610.
Upgrading to Gusty and trying to boot kernel 2.6.22 caused me to not be
able to boot up because it couldn't mount my home partition on
/dev/sda2. I was able to boot off of 2.6.20.
