Intel's current release of iwlwifi issues a printk from the mac80211
driver each time the driver receives a WEP packet for which the index is
unknown. This can be a common occurrence in a wifi rich environment. The
solution is to comment out the offending printk.
** Affects:
@rengolin. I have used the other solution, on the Samba server-side:
'unix extensions = no'. This is working OK for me. I have not tried the
client-side solution like you have used, so I can not comment on that.
Perhaps this is any help for you.

Thanks Michi26, I'll try it. But my problem is sporadic, not likely
due to this. I suspect SCIM. But for daily work I just can't remove
SCIM to test. :(

Try running apt-get update and then the dist-upgrade again, it seems to
be a problem with your network connection and not an update-manager bug,

Michael -
Thanks for your review and comments. I did not try doing a sync,
actually. I saw this pending merge on MOM and the changes that needed
to be merged in debian/control. The debian package does not include
Build-Depends for x11proto-xext-dev and libxt-dev and I see from the
changelog
I had the same problem. The solution is very simple:
sudo apt-get remove brltty
