As already noted, this bug is not fixed in hardy. I can run stellarium,
but only if I try with a newly created user. With my normal user, it
crashes, regardless of stellarium's settings (even if there are none).

Only happens when trying to print from a windows xp to ubuntu 8.04 with samba
sharing a HP F4180.
The printer works excellent when printing in local (ubuntu).
With this bug, it doesn't print anything from samba.

I also confirm this bug on a HP Pavillion DV6705el with a NVidia GeForce
8400m over a clean install of Hardy 8.04 for i386.
The function keys for brightness do work, so it's just a bit bothersome
to increase brightness every new boot.

There are some work-arounds mentioned in that bug you could try. One is to open
a terminal window and run
sudo update-manager

I have the same problem described here trying to play a clip on Amazon's
MP# download section.
I freshly upgraded to Kubuntu 8.04 today, with Mediabuntu. Maybe
something mediabuntu installed is at fault? No idea.
It's unfortunate to see 'fix released when it's clearly still a
problem.

Wow szabolcs, I got the exact same problem with my card reader, exact
same specs and exact same error message
In my case, using a normal 2 gb sd card doesn't provoke any problems..
but using my new 4 gb sdhc card brings this error...
The weird thing is that I was able to get it to work twice

Hello.
So I spent some time trying to get a good log of lshal -m. My
workflow usually sees me keeping my laptop on for a while and changing
between hibernating and suspending. Anyway, my steps to reproduce this
are:

1. boot up
2. manually hibernate, wake-up
3. remove AC Adapter

I figured out why is this happening.
When I first submit the bug report above, I am using a motherboard with
VIA C3 Samuel 2, which is a 686-class CPU but WITHOUT the cmov
instructions.
Now I have upgraded to a new motherboard with VIA C7-D 1.5Ghz, which is
a 686-class CPU WITH cmov
Update: switching to ndiswrapper driver for my ralink (rt61) card
appears to have done away with the issue for me.
