When my mouse is idle (for about 1 second), the mouse pointer shifts down and

Just to double confirm, turning off the shared input has fixed my
problem in Hardy.
I can still use Japanese in Firefox and Thunderbird, but it's no longer

I tested it again on both updated Hardy Heron and Intrepid Alpha 2 +
updates. The original symptoms with the listed keys are not

I think that's probably the right classification but since it seems to
be an interaction problem I wasn't sure. I also questioned whether it
could be indirectly security related since the only possible fix I've
run across is someone who appears to have run postfix without
Patch attached.

able to determine if the status daemon is running or not by querying:
* /etc/init.d/mythtv-status status
