The HP LaserJet P1006 is supported by HPLIP 2.8.2+, Ubuntu 8.10 comes
with HPLIP 2.8.7 therefore it is supported.
The printer needs to be configured using hp-setup to function correctly.
The HAL printer detection and configuration does not install the plugin
that is required for this printer to

However Ubuntu should be able to fetch the correct filter/plugin using

I get this error when trying to upgrade kernel:

I'm not sure this is a bug. The shutdown funcionality has changed since
Hardy. There is no more shutdown applet on the top right corner. System
- shutdown just shuts down the system. The user switching applet has
option to sign out, reboot, shutdown etc. So there is no need to ask you

I can confirm that this is happening to me as well after upgrading from
Ubuntu Hardy to Intrepid. I have an Asus M3N-HT Deluxe Mempipe (with
latest BIOS update) with a Phenom 9850+ Black Edition processor. When
booting the initial boot process will get stuck on one message, then I
need to press

Fails to find boot device in Intel D945Gnt
This patch fixes the MPPE settings problem, along with the EAP settings.

This problem has been determined to be caused by the SuSE xrandr 1.2
patch we and SuSE are using. In KDE 4.2 we have Kephal which should be
able to replace the patch.

knotify 4 crashed signal 11 sigsegv (no debugging info)

The process should be the same as for the other uploads. Subscribe
u-u-s and someone should upload it. I think the process doesn't
require a debdiff, as it's maintained in a bzr branch and afaik MOTU
should handle that too. It has an ack from Mozilla Extensions team.
