repaint() in a while ( true ) loop in a java applet freezes whole system
External applet windows work fine for me. Hopefully the site will work
better when the next java6 update hits ubuntu (6 update 11), which will

I am also using LDM_DIRECTX=True, but I did just change it to false for
a client and tested again - and that wasn't it. Firefox is still slow.
I'm having a hard time picturing what Firefox could be doing differently
for context menus and drop down options when run remotely vs. locally.

the HPLIP Toolbox to install the firmware.
In Intrepid the printer is left in a bad state, and even the BIOS gets
stuck for a few minutes during boot-up while trying to recognize the USB

Hardware keys for brightness control work, but they do not increase/decrease
the actual brightness in proper intervals.
