OK, I can reproduce this now with the same backtrace. I have exactly the
same issue with the debugging symbols. It turns out the package needed
for the symbols is libqt4-xmlpatterns-dbg. However, there is currently
an issue with our qt debugging packages which is being tracked as bug
261380 so

[4.3 Regression] Wrong code when -O3 or -O2 -fstack-protector used
I have noticed that this happens more often when I start the laptop on
battery power. It hasn't happened when I run on AC power.
When running on battery power, I also never see the battery information
in the panel. When I restart/log off, I always see a prompt that says
'gnome-power-manager still

for myself! :-) It sounds like the installation was perhaps only

I still have ffmpeg linked against x264, even though I have latest
libavcodec-unstripped-51 - ffmpeg still complains about missing h264 codec.

the hdaps_ec module is not available...

Ok, I removed the old mixer applet from the panel and logged out from
gnome. pkill -u 1000 and login again. Now, I do not have any mixer
symbols anymore. And xsession-errors has this:

I can open Word templates without any problems. This problem is NOT
about Word templates - it is about REGULAR WORD DOCUMENTS. OO.o is
saying that all Word documents are templates. And the desktop file is
