This appeared with 2.6.30-3.4, although the source changes between
2.6.30-2.3 and -3.4 do not seem obviously connected to this. I wonder if
it has something to do with building against -2.3's linux-libc-dev?

Usually when my mouse gets stuck in one screen I can move it into the
lower part of the other screen. A workaround to get the mouse working
properly again seems to be moving a window half in one screen, half in
the other, then clicking on the border of that window in the other
screen. ;} Works

Sometimes even when you have -dbg packages installed, gdb (what the KDE
crash handler uses) can't get a good backtrace. Not having the symbols
is not the only way for a backtrace to be incomplete, though most times
when users get useless backtraces, it is due to them not having the
symbols.
You probably did not replace all placeholders. Please execute
cupsfilter -m application/vnd.cups-postscript -p
/etc/cups/ppd/LBP5000.ppd file.pdf test.ps
with file.pdf beinmg the file name of your e-book which does not print
on your printer.
