I get this error when switching monitor configurations also. Just
changing the xorg.conf doesn't work for me, I also have to remove

After installing Thunderbird, preferred applications shows both Mozilla
I can also confirm this bug. Happened a few minutes ago - again(!). About the
fourth time for me. Had about 15 GB worth of data in the trash.
Now, the file system hasn't given me the space back and the trash is empty
after forced reboot (held down power button).

I had some NFS mounts but not where this is installed. It must have
something to do with either the upgrade or the combination of me moving
my home to seperate partition just before upgrade.
Mythtv seems to work ok its just when i install something synaptic seems

I was not able to test my machine with Nvidia 177, but instead I've used
the NV driver for a few days. To my suprise I experienced a few of the
same hangups as well! So the crashes are probably not related to the
Nvidia-driver.
It reminds me of the crashes I had during the first two months with

Symtom
Installing 9.04, the installer stops at 82 % when it is searching for file
mirror. ( i waited for 30 minutes )
I was finally able to install, by pressing:
ctrl + alt + f2
sudo killall http
sudo killall http , yes twice, it stopped again right after at another
Since the bug had no package assigned I'll assign it to notify-osd

I got errors about pcscd not finding my SmartCard reader. When I pointed
it to the direct location (provider_library = /lib/libpcsclite.so.1) in
opensc.conf, everything works. Looks like this is due to libpcsclite,
for which the library location was changed some time ago.

Slip of tongue there. It was opensc-tool that didn't find the SmartCard
reader which I had configured to work with pcscd.

alt-sysrq-reisub doesnt work for me when the computer freezes. nor does

I can confirm that on both my notebooks (Thinkpad R61 / EeePC 1000h).
IIRC the touchpad is driver is synaptics so assign the bug to the
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package.
