to file and displays correctly in Evince but does not print out

evdev events originate within the kernel itself, and that they get sent
at probed intervals as long as a key is considered down by the
hardware.
After reading more source code, it looks like it is actually event-

Here is a debdiff against Karmic with a patch provided by Alex Deucher
(actually I rebased the problematic 104 patch against the one from

I added the ppa as suggested and it breaks the dependencies on the gnome
flavored ubuntu 9.04 with this error:

I suspect the problem is a compiz/nvidia issue with two screens. I
normally have the following setup:
* laptop monitor - 1680x1050 - screen 1
* external monitor - 1680x1050 - screen 2
* wine is set to emulate a virtual desktop and CoD4 is set to run at 1680x1050.
I usually run it on screen 2.
Glad to see that this functionality has been changed, imo, for the
better.
One more reason to switch to karmic :)

Same situation here. I believe in my case, this is triggered by turning
effects On (System Preferences Visual Effects), and subsequently
turning Visual Effects back off. While 'On', ALT key combos work fine.

There seems to be two problems in your Xorg.0.log. First, it doesn't
find any connected monitors (even though you have one one the HDMI
connection) and then after it has already given up there is a crash.
Let's focus on the HDMI connection for now.
First, I would like you to try the intel drivers
I can confirm this issue as well. Muting and unmuting the PulseAudio
Master mixer can also restore sound as well.

Muting at shutdown causes sound at next
Within a framebuffer console, no xdm started:
Output from showkey, which parses kernel output from /dev/console , is
not based on kernel evdev driver. (So, way before evdev which normally
provides events to xf86-input-evdev).
Normally, output from showkey would look like this for regular keys:
Any updates on this issue.
Evolution preview pane freeze happens consistently.
Evolution does not crash, and i still can view the email content if i open it
in the separate window.

Binary package hint: pixelize
pixelize does not follow GNOME HIG, including menus and standard
keyboard shortcuts. As Ubuntu is a GNOME based distro, I think it would
be helpful to fix these issues to make pixelize fit into the
environment.
