I'have the same problem in a acer aspire 5735. Sorry, I was mistaken. As far as I see, there are several possible fixes: 1) Add try..catch to code that treats the item identifier as path (the code snippet above) 2) Change the format of ItemsService_CustomItems so that each identifier there contains information about what type of item it represents: a file, a folder, a .desktop file or something other. [Bug 486166] Re: DNS stopped working with Three Australia mobile broadband
Perhaps there are better changes that could be made. [Bug 431212] Re: Sound fading out on Dell E521 with Nvidia and Karmic
Getting the same fading effect with a fresh install of Karmic on a Dell Dimension E520. lspci lists the sound hardware as 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) Steps to reproduce: 1. Plug headphones into the front panel. 2. Open Places-Home Folder-Examples-Ubuntu Free Culture Showcase. 3. Double-click InTheCircle.oga. Playback starts normally, but sound fades smoothly and is totally inaudible by 0:44. Closing the movie player before sound has totally faded, waiting ten seconds, then double-clicking InTheCircle.oga again will start playback at a much reduced output level, as if the fade has been going on in the background even with no sound playing. Leaving the movie player closed for a couple of minutes is enough to reset volume to normal. Headphones plugged into the back panel are unaffected unless the plug is switched from front to back partway through a fade, in which case the sound level remains constant but faded. -- Sound fading out on Dell E521 with Nvidia and Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431212 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 486207] [NEW] sound is disabled
Public bug reported: Sound is disabled in karmic, I have noticed this issue in both my laptop and desktop using KARMIC. I first noticed it sporadically while listening to music using firefox or rhythmbox but only every now and then. I noticed it quite frequently on my desktop while playing urban terror. In the urban terror console I saw a message saying that it was dropping sound. I then began testing sound on my laptop while listening to youtube videos and sure enough, the sound would be dropped after 30-45 minutes. Not only does sound gets dropped but also my keyboard settings keep getting changed to international usa. This happens when my sound goes out, my keyboard settings get changed to international usa as well. This keeps happening on karmic. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sound is disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486207 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

- - OS: Ubuntu 9.10 x64 - Do version: 0.8.2+dfsg-1 - LANG: ru_RU.UTF-8 Cheers, Alex ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Nov 21 10:33:39 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: gnome-do 0.8.2+dfsg-1 ProcEnviron: - LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: gnome-do Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-do When I'm adding Transmission to the Docky items, Do won't start the next time. Re: [Bug 334249] Re: Dell Laptop vostro 1310, Internal Keyboard and Touchpad not working anymore on 9.04 jaunty
Uh-oh, seems the problem is back on 9.10 with the latest updates. Today was the second time I booted my Vostro 1310 just with the battery and the trackpad and keyboards were dead again, exactly the same way on 9.04. [Bug 486222] [NEW] Google Reader source loses subscriptions moved to it
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: liferea When using a GOogle Reader source in Liferea, moving a feed subscription to the source seems to work OK (it shows up in the UI and I can read it there), however, when the Google Reader source is first updated, the subscription vanishes. Note: This causes data loss, as all the 'read'/'important' flags from the subscription are lost in the process. ** Affects: liferea (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Google Reader source loses subscriptions moved to it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486222 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
