It seems that the fix in Cairo solves the 0a problem of the original
poster (embedded fonts), but there are also other 0a problems which
are not covered (other embedded binary data, like pictures or so).
So we can approve the Cairo fix to at least help the users who cannot

It seems I have the same problem as described in this bug report.
I have two computers. The first can replicate Files, Notes and Contacts to
ubuntuone and the other can only replicate Files and Notes. After some time
searching I think I found the problem. The couchdb is not setup to replicate
@asmanao Do you still face this? I tried this in lucid (empathy 2.29.5)

I completely agree. I have occasionally had this problem with Ubuntu
samba and gave up on it, not knowing what combination finally got it
working when it did. I almost gave up on it after the last new install.
I never considered installing Nautilus in a certain order. I just did

It is reproducible.
Specific steps:
1. Launch empathy. It will bring up a wizard offering to create an account.
2. Press cancel. The contact list entry will appear in the window list and the
window picker.
3. Close the contact list window. Now the entry is gone as it should be.

In Firefox 3.5.7 it works, attaching the screenshot after following steps in

Once you close firefox and open it again it *does* have the button on the
toolbar.
[Note: the icon does not appear when using the restart button and restarting

I was wrong. After disabling encrypted swap and home folder, I can still
reproduce this bug.

I am have slow flash on particular videos and websites. Youtube works fine, but
slowers the machine in overall too.

I did everything according to your explanations and it seems that Empathy
works. I also tried to reboot again and again to try and it works! It just
needs to be activated twice, but it works!
