FWIW, it looks like Gnome 2.29.91 (tested in Ubuntu Lucid) fixes this
issue. It has a very small delay but it isn't anywhere near as bad -

KIO is brought in by the KDE open file dialog through the Qt4 open file
dialog. This can trivially be reproduced: start VLC, go to Media / Open
File, cancel, exit.

When you add a torrent, if you enlarge / stretch the window Torrent Options
choice Torrent priority: Normal becomes large, and must remain a fixed size
as before. Must be stretched only window. Also not remembered window size and

*sigh* I reinstalled plymouth and rebooted with KMS and I saw the ubuntu
logo. I even tried with /forcefsck and saw the logo. Perhaps my
initramfs didn't get updated for some reason. I can say when I
uninstalled it after filing this bug that another package was removed
related to 'crypt disks'.

Yeah, the problem only seems to surface on internally mounted disks.
External USB disks work fine for me too. KDE's Removable Devices tool
in System Settings also fails to mount these disks.

the issue is happening when gnome-keyring has no available keyring, I'm
going to backport a libgnome-keyring change which triggers the dialog to
create a keyring in those cases, desktopcouch could still handle those
cases better maybe though

Had the same problem being able to connect but dns not working, when
trying to change got insufficient privileges. With sudo nm-
connection-editor could change the dhcp to address only insert DNS
manually. Works like a charm

too. It did take a while to load though.
