I used the madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6 instead of the ng drivers and had to manually
switch the w-lan

1. i'm left handed and driving the mouse with the right hand, i think

chrome has the problem. for wine i think it's more or less unfixable.
but i understand that wine is not
(ok it seems wine can use standard window titlebar nowadays so i take
that back...)

I have a similar issue and since the bios smart utility isn't reporting

edit to my comment above - apt-get clean doesn't actually solve this
problem. I was seeing a speed-up simply due to the database being in the
hard drive cache :(
