Yeah no worries. Sorry I haven't been back sooner to report. I ended up
updating the USB that I was installing from and it then installed fine.
I then just imaged that system and restored those images to the broken
machines. It all worked fine. Since then I have done a clean install of
10.04NBR
On my Debian unstable system, odt2txt properly works with the attached
file.
With pt_BR.UTF-8, de_DE and de_DE.UTF-8 I can see Voß without any problems
(running both odt2txt odt2txt_bugreport_example.ods and odt2txt --raw
odt2txt_bugreport_example.ods).
With LC_ALL=C I see Voss instead Voß (but

variables such as http_proxy are not preserved when you use sudo. As a

I mentioned that after the proposed updates thunar was working but
slower than usual. Renaming .gnome2 seems to have fixed it; the newly
generated .gnome2 directory has returned the speed that was there.
Still having two weird issues since the updates:

Yes, following http://edtake.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/ubuntu-slow-
wireless-after-upgrading-to-10-04/ didn't helped either, in contrary, I
completely lost my eth1 wlan port, but purging linux-backports-modules-
wireless-lucid-generic helped.

I have the same problem, both in 9.10 and 10.04, and both after fresh
installs. When I play mp3 files or video in banshee, rhythmbox, mplayer,
or vlc the sound skips/stutters randomly during the song (every 20

I have got the same problem. Rhythmbox says the purchased songs are
transferred to my Ubuntu One Storage or are queued but they won't sync
at all. The Ubuntu One Music Store download page looks like in the
