I think the sound used to work after first installation of Lucid 10.04,
but stopped after one of the upgrades through Update Manager. On a
separate hard drive, I run Windows 7 and the sound works perfectly ...
so I know it is not a hardware problem.

regarding Kantastisk's workaround, using the Grab doesn't help get the
right window title, resulting in ALL windows opening at the bottom
right. to fix that, i manually entered name=clock-applet as the value.

For those as confused as me with gforge-db-postgresql install issues,
the file in question is:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/gforge-db-postgresql.postinst
search for pg_name
More specifically open a terminal and go:
suodo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/info/gforge-db-postgresql.postinst
or your favourite editor

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve MythTV and Ubuntu by opening
this ticket. Others that have encountered a similar problem have noticed
that changing playback profiles to one that does NOT use XvMC has
resolved this issue. Could you please try that, and perhaps other

This bug will not be fixed. In theory, the problem is going to be corrected
whenever gnome 3.0 is released, and will have a completely different
architecture for panels etc.
