Problem still appears. This should be Critical bug as Ubuntu does not
repair itself (for me) and needs a LiveCD.

Skype won't start

Exactly the same problem for me this morning, as you describe including the
error message. I've tried the obvious things including purge and re-install of
Skype but looks like there's no easy solution...
System:
Dell Studio 1517; 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011
I am getting the same from today morning. I am running 10.10. The only
updates today morning were :
Start-Date: 2011-05-26 06:16:22
Upgrade: rdesktop:i386 (1.6.0-3ubuntu2, 1.6.0-3ubuntu2.1),
google-chrome-stable:i386 (11.0.696.68-r84545, 11.0.696.71-r86024)
End-Date: 2011-05-26 06:16:56
Had exactly the same issue. Removing the ~/.Skype folder helped for me.
Skype works again.

2.6.6 was the last bug fix release for Python 2.6. 2.6.7 (planned for
June 3, 2011) and beyond will be security-fix only releases. Yes, there
are a *ton* of fixes in 2.6.6. See

I'll review these to find any I think might affect Ubuntu,
Inkscape provides an extension dia.inx that allows Dia files to be
read by Inkscape. It is only enabled if dia is installed. I think
Suggests: dia is fine here, because it adds extra functionality to
Inkscape.
I can't see an obvious reason for Suggests: skencil. The
import/export extensions
I have the same problem. How can I help you to fix the bug? I'm bored to
replug my mouse!
O.S: Ubuntu 11.04 (x86) - Gnome
Mouse model: Logitech RX250 (USB)
I tried 3 different USB slot and I always experienced the same problem.
