Public bug reported: libreoffice: Installed: 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1~lucid1 Candidate: 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1~lucid1 Version table: *** 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1~lucid1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status In LibreOffice Calc 3.5.3-0ubuntu1~lucid1 (PPA) and 3.5.2-6 (Debian sid unstable) there are problems with malformed links to external Excel-sheets. It's a serious problem imho in all 3.5.x-Linux-versions of Calc. Linux-users with any 3.5.x-version can't cooperate at the office with MS Office users if they use links to external Excel-sheets. [also reported there https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48463 2012-04-09 05:17 PDT] Make a source.xls and a merged.xls. Type in source.xls [A1]number [A2]A [A3]B [B1]value [B2]11 [B3]22 Type in merged.xls [A1]number [A2]A [A3]B [B1]value [B2]252-2ubuntu1 [B3]45 Make in merged.xls [C1]diff [C2]=B2-'file:///tmp/source.xls'#$sheet1.B2 [C3]=B3-'file:///tmp/source.xls'#$sheet1.B3 The sheet merged.xls shows now in [C2]14 and [C3]23. If you close merged.xls and reopen it, you get a message … contains links … should they be updated? and an error. =B3-'file:///tmp/tmp/source.xls/'#$sheet1.B2 The path-name was saved (or reloaded) wrong into [C2] and [C3]. As LO-users will/must cooperate with MSO-users, they can't use LibreOffice 3.5 because the malformed links to external sheets. To let all switch to ods-sheets is not an option at the office. There is no work-around atm with other formats like xlsx. I tested in 3.4.4 links to other sheets - works fine there (tested with Oneiric). (I heard also about normal behaviour in Debian wheezy testing LibreOffice calc 1:3.4.6-2.) Can we go back to the behaviour of 3.4.x to make/save/reload links to external Excel sheets? ** Affects: calc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: regression -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995418 Title: LO calc creates malformed links to external Excel-sheets To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calc/+bug/995418/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 995425] [NEW] Copy disc - Wrong size

When it's finished, go to the location where the ISO file was saved. Observe; It's a 15MB ISO with only half-written files, while the CD's contents where around 560MB. 9. [Bug 877627] Re: Software Center is not opening on 11.10 after update from 11.04
I found a work-around but am not sure which side-effects this may have. Obvoiusly the following files were corrupted during upgrade to 10.10: /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/cataloged_times.p /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/values cataloged_times.p had just binary data and values looked more like a README file. After I deleted both files, I was able to start root@montreal:/var/lib/apt-xapian-index# update-apt-xapian-index -v which rebuild both files. Software-center now also works again. cataloged_times.p contains now text information and values actually looks like a data-base. Not sure what caused the corruptions during upgrade to 10.10, but obviously it happened to others as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877627 Title: Software Center is not opening on 11.10 after update from 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/software-center/+bug/877627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 284661] Re: php5 crashed with SIGSEGV in execute()
Sorry for not replying for so long (it seems nobody was caring for cacti in Ubuntu). The problem looks like a inifinite loop. Re: [Bug 995227] [NEW] citadel fails to start after upgrade to 8.05-3
turns out: * upgrade to 8.05-3 is not the reason, * the reason for the non-starter is the ownership of /var/lib/citadel/data/citadel.config and/or the user that runs citadel in 8.05 Using the 8.05* packages, citadel is run by root, but the upgrade script converts the db files to belong to the citadel user, which is why citadel does not start. [Bug 980017] Re: [i965gm] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x02000004
Awesome - thank you VERY much, I'm happy to report that adding the xorg- edgers repository has largely solved my issues. For information, I am still getting the error message a few minutes after startup most of the time (a few times it has not happened). And if I try to report it it seems to freak out and spawn infinite errors. But if I cancel reporting it and ignore it, then there's no further issue, I receive no further error notifications, and Unity + Compiz seem to be working fine together. When changing some settings in the Compiz Manager and on a few other occasions, it seems as though Compiz has rebooted itself (I briefly get a blank desktop with nothing but my wallpaper before everything reappears), but this has only happened to me on once outside of actively fiddling with the Compiz settings and every time it's recovered in 2 - 3 seconds rather than crashing and dying, or providing a corrupted display as it was previously. It's very useable now as long as I don't try to report that initial error. *gigantic thumbs up* Thanks again for being so helpful, Ben! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980017 Title: [i965gm] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x0204 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/980017/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Having a hard time upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04. First a missing libc6 that stopped the upgrade after a few minutes, which I then fixed according to askubuntu.com/questions/21987 (basically using Live CD to copy the missing library), then, after restarting the upgrade with apt- get dist-upgrade, everything looked good for a long time, but then the above error regarding udftools. Re: [Bug 991179] Re: 7.0.24 computation error bug
And I just read Dave's reply that this would be just fine, indeed. If it is not the order of lines, then my hunch is that it is the size of the buffer that I had increased, which may create larger (too large) files for the client to read. I will split that patch in two halves - buffer and reorder - so we can test it all more easily. But I would do so for 7.0.28 and ... maybe even only through upstream and not within Debian/Ubuntu. [Bug 995227] citadel privileges error or citadel postinst script buggy
In my new debian/wheezy installation, after installing citadel-server, it runs as user root, while 7.x in debian/squeeze runs as citadel (one of the processes also as root). Now, I checked the postinst script in 8.05: chown -R citadel:citadel /var/lib/citadel is the culprit. Either citadel is supposed to run as citadel not as root. Then the line is ok, but I don't see why the citadel-server process does not drop privileges to citadel.
