Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug 991552, so it is being marked as such. Please look at

- pressing Print-Screen when it's frozen does produce the camera noise,
but no visible change to the screen, so keyboard input is still being
tracked (to a point)
- running unity --replace from a VT fails, as it claims to fail opening
the display.

I have the same bug, although my symptoms are slightly different than
explained here. I had created bug #986063, but it was marked as a
duplicate of this one.

It only happens to me after a few days of my computer being on.

Since today I no longer have any problem logging out of a gnome-shell
session. I guess one of the recent updates must have fixed the issue,
but I don't know which one. Anyways, the problem is solved. Thanks.
