This information does not belong in /etc/nsswitch.conf. nsswitch.conf
is a configuration file for libc, for selecting between NSS modules;
autofs should not be relying on being able to stick its own
configuration settings in this file. And base-files should not be
adding such non-standard config

May be not a Nautilus problem, Krusader has the equivalent problem.
(Right click a directory--Properties--Permissions change Group and

gedit sometimes fails to redraw

Sometimes during editing of python source code after I press Enter
redraw is not performed and picture on the screen became out of sync
with text in editor - if I press Ctrl+A to select everything - previous
redraw is performed and insertion of new line symbol is shown, but
FWIW, I have noticed this behavior as well. Confronted with a black
screen I ctrl-alt-f1 to a console and then back (actually, I tend to
walk back along f2, f3... but that isn't necessary, I'm just weird).
This brings back the screen so I think there is just an screen update
missing somewhere.

Those of you who are seeing similar problems; could you try to get a
core dump and a full stack trace?
Here's how I managed to do it:
1. Prevent X from trapping SIGSEGV by putting the following in
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-no-trap-signals.conf:

I have this bug as well and it really annoys me. For some reason I can't
ignore a blank monitor. I'd actually prefer to use my laptop monitor,
but I have two screens attached to a docking station (dell/nvidia) and
that seems to preclude using three screens. So I'd really like to just
be able to

I can confirm this issue on a Thinkpad R51 laptop, and that following
sanmiguel9/oliver's instructions allows proper booting and installation.

There seems to be a bug either in the xserver 1.12 or the nvidia drivers
(abi 12). We are still looking for a nice backtrace. Maybe you can try
to get one. In the mean time, can you delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf and see
if it changes something?
