A good rule of thumb to follow is separate hardware=separate bugs.
The X1200 (mobile/integrated chip) problem seems rather intractable,
although some people have had success disabling/reducing the amount of
sideport RAM - see comments. #138 and #149.

I have a 12.04, installed shortly after the release and kept up to date.
Yesterday I was connected to a network with a proxy of the kind
described in the bug description above and today I saw the error
message. The issue was easiily solved removing the files as described in
the workaround.

I think the simplest fix for this is: remove libglew1.5-dev and
libglewmx1.5-dev binaries, *then* rebuild all the reverse-deps (because
libglew-dev Provides: libglew1.5-dev), then remove glew1.5 source.
