[Bug 728017] Re: xwindows over ssh causes instability
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728017 Title: xwindows over ssh causes instability To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/728017/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1159748] Re: Ramdom apache2 crash in Ubuntu 12.04 (libpthread-2.15.so)
I am seeing the same behavior on my system. Reproduceable every time I do /etc/init.d/apache2 reload. System in question is a VM running under VMware ESXi, so I could provide developers with a copy of the VM if they can't reproduce it themselves (but it's not a small file). Apache is serving from three directories, using a Geotrust wildcard SSL cert: SVN over HTTPS, RequestTracker 4.0.10 (built from source), and a DokuWiki wiki. Version is 2.2.22 (Ubuntu) built 2013-03-08 I'll be glad to provide core dumps as needed, or a copy of the VM. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159748 Title: Ramdom apache2 crash in Ubuntu 12.04 (libpthread-2.15.so) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1159748/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1033263] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 freezes with nvidia drivers
I can confirm this on 12.04 LTS and also on 12.10 with a very fresh install of ubuntu. Its absolutely regardless which nvidia driver i activate (current, current-updates, experimental) the desktop freezes randomly with ativated nvidia driver. Sometimes the system freezes complete, desktop, mouse and keyboard are stocked. Sometimes only the keyboard and desktop freezes. and i can move the cursor but are not able to make the dekstop response do any kind of mouse interacting. If i change back to NV driver the system runs stable. Also this only happens the very first boot on the day. If i restart my system i can run it for hours without any problem. For now i have deactivated the nvidia drivers, hopefully someone can fix this. I also can confirm (but im not sure) that this must have to do with unity as im running a dualboot system with 12.04 LTS and Ubuntu Studio 12.10. On Ubuntu Studio which uses XFCE the system runs stable with the latest nvidia driver activated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1033263 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 freezes with nvidia drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/1033263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
Hi Everyone, I'm still having this issue (2012-12-21 comment 609). Very annoying! Freezes seem to be completely random, at the best my laptop has been running fine longer than month, but for example during the past two weeks, maybe ten freezes. Yes, mouse not moving, keyboard not responding, no ssh, Ctrl+Alt+F1 not working, no tty.. Closing lid does not suspend. The only option is to power off the computer from the power button and start over. The same laptop also has W7 and RHEL6 installed, they run without problems.. Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS with the latest updates. Please, see the lspci-info attached for the details. No proprietary drivers, Intel Ivy Bridge. The bug #1154006 similar.. Fix appreciated, please.! [Bug 1073433] Re: Ext4 corruption associated with shutdown of Ubuntu 12.10
I have broken the link to duplication of bug #1124803 NetworkManager doesn't respond to SIGTERM in daemon mode. This bug have been reported by Ernie and in the discussion of bug #1124803 he insists that his bug has not fixed. Network manager 0.9.6.0 in 12.10 quantal is really affected by that bug, and if the patch mentioned there is applied system shuts down correctly. On 'stop network-manager' dhclient is stopped as well. If network-manager 0.9.8.0 from Raring is installed to 12.10 Quantal then dhclient for some reason (unclear for me) does not open lease file in /var/lib/NetworkManager so root filesystem can be cleanly remounted readonly. In Raring network-manager 0.9.8.0 opens a lease file in /var/lib/NetworkManager, but after 'stop network-manager' dhclient (intentionally?) remains alive. The PID of dhclient is mentioned in /run/sendsigs.omit.d/ so, if I guess correctly, dhclient is not stopped during shutdown and /etc/init.d/umountroot can not remount / readonly due to the lease file open for writing. Ernie, you have faced another bug in NetworkManager. The comments are in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1073433/comments/102 so you should post comments there or someone should open a dedicated bug. I have removed duplication link. In 12.10 Quantal NetworkManager 0.9.8.0 does not open a lease file in /var/lib/NetworkManager so I do not think that version from Raring is desired in Quantal. [Bug 1157878] Re: No X with nvidia after upgrade from 3.2.0-38 to 3.2.0-39

Some more information regarding my system: * Mainboard: Elitegroup K7S5A * BIOS: AMIBIOS 1.21.06 * Graphics card: GeForce FX 5200 in an AGP slot While I can use the latest kernel without problems again, it would probably still be interesting to find out the reason why I have to change a BIOS setting with kernels younger than 3.2.0-38. ** Attachment added: Xorg.log when booting 3.9.0-rc3 with 'Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA' set to 'Yes' https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1157878/+attachment/3643764/+files/3.9_rc3_Xorg.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157878 Title: No X with nvidia after upgrade from 3.2.0-38 to 3.2.0-39 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1157878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I moved my critical batch encoding sessions to different tty sessions in case the GUI hangs and I need to restart lightdm, so it wouldn't harm them if it crashes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1167656 Title: Ubuntu GUI hangs often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1167656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1167656] Re: Ubuntu GUI hangs often
The problem is that I simply don't know. It hangs quite often, in various situations. Launching steam after steam crashes, opening a web link inside steam, playing a video in smplayer, playing a video in VLC, switching through playlist in either, clementine. Anything that invokes launching a window can potentially cause the hang.

[Bug 1168852] [NEW] Support of specific Atheros 3012 device for precise kernel
Public bug reported: Hello! I'm using an Acer Aspire S3 laptop with Atheros 3012 bluetooth module. The problem is that I cannot detect nor pair to any bluetooth device. The list of detected bluetooth devices always remains empty. Further inspection revealed that it is a well-known problem that can be solved by adding the proper device id to the following two files: /drivers/bluetooth/btusb.c /drivers/bluetooth/ath3k.c I've downloaded the current precise kernel source from the git repository and looked at these two files. There are a total of 8 different Atheros AR3012 device ids supported , however my particular device id (0x04ca 0x3004) was not mentioned. The id is exactly (0x04ca 0x3004) and not the (apparently more popular) (0x04ca 0x3005) and (0x0cf3 0x3004) which are present in these lists. I propose fixing this problem by adding my device id into these two files. Here's the output of usb-devices command: T: Bus=01 Lev=02 Prnt=02 Port=03 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=e0(wlcon) Sub=01 Prot=01 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=04ca ProdID=3004 Rev=00.01 S: Manufacturer=Atheros Communications S: Product=Bluetooth USB Host Controller S: SerialNumber=Alaska Day 2006 C: #Ifs= 2 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=100mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=e0(wlcon) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=btusb I: If#= 1 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=e0(wlcon) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=btusb ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168852 Title: Support of specific Atheros 3012 device for precise kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1168852/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1168851] [NEW] Display suddenly became too dark
Public bug reported: Hello, I'm running foobillard on Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise). On april 2013 there was an update of the kernel to 3.2.0-40-generic. Since then, it's hardly possible to see the table, the side of the carpet became too dark to see the table details. There is only the central spot of the table which kept the original colors. see the image. With the previous kernel there was no such problem.
