2013-06-13 Thread mikewhatever
There is a slew of the 8192cu related changes with the 3.2.0-48-generic

to find the wireless connection established.

[Bug 1190877] [NEW] Linphone frequently crashes using G.729 codec

2013-06-13 Thread gdi2k
Public bug reported:

I'm on Ubuntu using 12.10 linphone and linphone-plugin-g729 from the PPA here:
https://launchpad.net/~linphone/+archive/release

When using ulaw, things are rock solid, but using G.729 causes linphone
to crash a few times per day when in constant use.

linphone is running as an LTSP local app, but that shouldn't make any
difference.

I am happy to provide debugging info, but not sure what to include.

[Bug 918896] Re: returns no data from SQL server

2013-06-13 Thread Steger Jozsef
distribution package python-pymssql 1.0.2+dfsg-1 for amd64 architecture
in raring (Ubuntu 13.04) still does the very same.

I have previously compiled the sources downloaded from
http://code.google.com/p/pymssql/downloads/detail?name=pymssql-2.0.0b1-dev-20111019.tar.gz&can=2&q=
and set PYTHONPATH environment variable to point also to the folders
containing the so binaries. By doing so it works for me.

(I just realized there is a newer tarball
http://code.google.com/p/pymssql/downloads/detail?name=pymssql-2.0.0b1-dev-20130403.tar.gz&can=2&q=
same version number, but have not tested that one yet.)

note also another problem with the pymssql shipped with distro, though
you get an empty result, the nextresult() method of the cursor will
always return True, so you can easily jump in an endless loop

[Bug 1190869] [NEW] incorrect use of shopt when /bin/sh is dash instead of bash

2013-06-13 Thread Laurent Bonnaud
Public bug reported:

The /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video script

 - contains #!/bin/sh at the top
 - contains "shopt -s extglob" near the beginning

This was fine when /bin/sh pointed to bash. But now that /bin/sh points
to dash, this produces the following error:

Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video resume suspend:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video: 22: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video:
shopt: not found

(seen in /var/log/pm-suspend.log).

I don't know if the correct fix is
 - to remove the use of shopt and hope that the rest of the script works (no
other bashism)
or
 - to put #!/bin/bash at the top

[Bug 1185884] Re: TCP traffic stalls

2013-06-13 Thread Andreas Steffan
The issue is somehow related to the file size. Sending 100k exposes the
problem for me, sending 1k works. I've just sent a report to lkml as it
at least varies with the kernel.

[Bug 1190854] [NEW] Failed to install to sandisk drive - UEFI probably the problem

2013-06-13 Thread cbp
Public bug reported:

The installation instructions for Ubuntu to a sandisk on a UEFI system
simply don't exist in any meaningful way and it simply doesn't work.

It's pretty normal to want alternate OSs on a separate sandisk to boot
up and this would work fine if Ubuntu actually supported this without
trying to grub around forums and guess.

I'm running Precise with a setup similar to that in the original bug

prompted for a password when connecting but should not be as I've
configured for public key authentication. I've also tried Margarita's

[Bug 1190827] Re: After upgrade, System Crash; lost entire HDD, BIOS reports no HDD

2013-06-13 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1190827/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 301174] Re: Use proper sound event instead of system beep

2013-06-13 Thread Dor Askayo
Still reproducible in 13.04, out of the box install. (everything
default)

The workaround shown in #39 and #41 still works, though I think it uses the
wrong sound file. I use this, for the default bell sound:
pactl upload-sample /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo/bell.ogg bell.ogg

When compiling mesa with osmesa and --enable-shared-glapi, OpenGL
functions such as glNormal3f, glVertex3f, etc. are not defined in
libOSMesa but are defined in libGL. It would be good if there was an
option to build libOSMesa with static GL API and the rest built with
shared GL API at the same time. This means if libGL is replaced with a
proprietary libGL, libOSMesa can still continue to function properly.

[Bug 1187970] Re: apparmor prevents custom printer driver from executing

2013-06-13 Thread John Johansen
Sorry my mistake again. I don't often hit the low level interface. The
echo command needs a -n, we are echoing the profile name to remove
directly into the apparmor kernel interface.

lets do this

sudo aa-status

ps -Z `pidof cupsd`

sudo bash -c "echo -n /usr/sbin/cupsd
>/sys/kernel/security/apparmor/.remove"
sudo bash -c "echo -n /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf
>/sys/kernel/security/apparmor/.remove"

sudo aa-status
ps -Z `pidof cupsd`

sudo restart cups
ps -Z `pidof cupsd`

[Bug 1189942] Re: Please merge albatross 1.36-5.5 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-06-13 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Your remaining diff is:

* Set X-Python-Version: >=2.5
- That's an optional field and is unnecessary since both Debian & Ubuntu have
Python 2.7 as the default Python (and there won't be a newer major Python 2
release).

* Break python-albatross-common (<< 1.36-5.4ubuntu2)
- That version was shipped before the most recent LTS and we do not support
upgrades from pre-Ubuntu 12.04 LTS unless you upgrade to 12.04 LTS first.

We can drop both of those changes. However, there's one more change
(from 1.36-5.4ubuntu2) that seems necessary to actually build this
package in Ubuntu. Could you please resubmit your merge proposal with
just this one change and then re-subscribe ~ubuntu-sponsors one more
time.

[Bug 1190829] [NEW] Sync simplejson 3.3.0-2 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

2013-06-13 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Please sync simplejson 3.3.0-2 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
simplejson (3.3.0-0ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * debian/rules: Enable tests.
  * Separate docs into its own package:
- debian/python-simplejson-doc.install: Add.
  * Add python3 support:
- debian/control: Add python3-simplejson binary package. Build-Depend
  on python3-all-dev. Add X-Python3-Version: >= 3.3.
- debian/python3-simplejson.install: Add.
- debian/rules: Enable Python 3.

The Ubuntu version posted today basically does the same thing as
the Debian version that had already been posted to experimental except
that the Debian version also adds -dbg packages and uses the significantly
simplified dh7/pybuild debian/rules.

Changelog entries since current saucy version 3.3.0-0ubuntu1:

simplejson (3.3.0-2) experimental; urgency=low

   * Fix FTBFS due to missing docs

 -- Piotr Ożarowski   Thu, 13 Jun 2013 23:20:24 +0200

simplejson (3.3.0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Jakub Wilk ]
  * Use canonical URIs for Vcs-* fields.

  [ Piotr Ożarowski ]

 -- Piotr Ożarowski   Thu, 02 May 2013 00:47:03 +0200

simplejson (3.1.3-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release

 -- Piotr Ożarowski   Sun, 07 Apr 2013 21:02:35 +0200

simplejson (3.1.2-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * support_pydebug_interpreters_in_tests patch removed, applied upstream

 -- Piotr Ożarowski   Wed, 20 Mar 2013 22:19:25 +0100

simplejson (3.1.0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * New binary packages:
- python-simplejson-doc
- python-simplejson-dbg
- python3-simplejson
- python3-simplejson-dbg
- pypy-simplejson
  * Build depend on python3-all-d{ev,bg} and pypy (for new packages)
  * Rewrite debian/rules to use dh sequencer and pybuild build system
  * Add support_pydebug_interpreters_in_tests patch
- bump minimum required Python version to 2.6

[Bug 1190776] Re: Via VT6421a PCI SATA controller not working under Linux 3.8

For maximal strangeness, it would appear that this card somehow
interferes with my sound card: while it is installed, I get a very
peculiar "atiixp: codec read timeout" error on boot, and my sound card
is not visible in the configuration pane. Unfortunately, since that's
an onboard sound device, I can't try the reverse (i.e., removing the
sound card) to see whether that affects the functionality of the SATA
controller.

[Bug 1174495] Re: Window Managers instability with r600 radeon and high monitor resolutions

2013-06-13 Thread Adam Conrad
Hello sfar, or anyone else affected,

Accepted compiz into raring-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/1:0.9.9~daily13.05.31~13.04-0ubuntu1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in

[Bug 390238] Re: Cancel extraction dialog with wrong text

2013-06-13 Thread Danny Sauer
Since it's been 4 years and there was no crash to begin with, this
information is not going to be real useful. I'm pretty sure the apport
stuff was either brand new or not quite released when this happened.
But sure, I guess I'll run that command now. I haven't even used the
app since the last time I updated this 3.5 years ago, so I honestly
don't even know if the buttons are still backwards. or if that dialog
still exists. :)
