Managed to test Maverick, uname_-a returns: 2.6.35-22-generic, (earliest

IIRC, this is windows-only behavior. In Debian/Ubuntu, the default
password is blank, /etc/boinc-client/gui_rpc_auth.cfg is created by
package install, and boincmgr never tries to write it, only read it, as
this file is supposed to be

Our team does generate those kernels, but they are for test purposes
only and are not meant for day-to-day use. As such they are not
officially supported. The option here was new in 3.12 and for whatever
reason got defaulted to off, but as soon as those builds start using the
trusty kernel

Unfortunately compiz does not save some settings like focus-follows-
mouse and commands with their keyboard shortcuts. Every reboot I have
to set the values again to enable ffm and the commands.
