[Bug 1567807] Re: nova delete doesn't work with EFI booted VMs
Yes, it is still possible to create an instance after changing only the delete method. The generated libvirt domain XML looks like this: hvm /usr/share/AAVMF/AAVMF_CODE.fd /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/nvram/instance-0005_VARS.fd That is, the nvram file is copied from a global template to an instance- specific file -- it's that file under /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/nvram that VIR_DOMAIN_UNDEFINE_NVRAM removes. It should arguably be using template=AAVMF_VARS.fd rather than AAVMF_CODE.fd, but that's unrelated to this and doesn't really matter. The most annoying part of this change is feature detection. I think delete_configuration might have to know to try unsetting flags until the method works, as older libvirts don't support VIR_DOMAIN_UNDEFINE_NVRAM and I can't see a way to test at runtime. But in our environment we know the libvirt version, so we just pass the flag in unconditionally. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1567807 Title: nova delete doesn't work with EFI booted VMs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1567807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1569233] Re: changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement missing, causes distro upgrade failure on EOL systems
** Description changed: Update Manager will read http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release and sequentially try to access http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement for ${release}+1's release notes, however the file on http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement is missing and Update Manager will complain "Could not find the release notes - The server may be overloaded" error message and interrupt the entire upgrade process. While this bug does appears on EOL release, it's still valid as EOL Upgrade still needs to be working to upgrade to a supported release. ## Bug Reproduce Steps ## 1. Grab & install an EOL'd Ubuntu release(e.g. Ubuntu 14.10) 2. Switch software source to old-releases.ubuntu.com 3. Update software source cache and fully upgrade the system - 4. "Now existing playlists should be (multi-)selected to load them directly into MIXX explorer's Playlist folder." This part seems like an entirely different bug/function maybe having to do with some kind of hook for external file explorers or something. What I'm talking about specifically and what it seems the main report was about was the absence of ability to right click on Playlists or Crates and immediately get the "import" menu/option which will result then in a new playlist entry. As things are now, a user has to first create a blank playlist to import a preexisting one, which would only be useful for combining several playlists into one. [Bug 1569609] [NEW] [SRU] microrelease exception for src:php7.0
Public bug reported: PHP 7.0 has only recent released and a number of critical security and bug-fixes are present in each 7.0.x. Rather than backporting individual patches (e.g., Bug # 1569509), I believe it makes significantly more sense to follow the upstream 7.0.x. Upstream PHP is demonstrating an improved approach of bugfixes only in 7.0.x: - 7.0.5: http://php.net/ChangeLog-7.php - 7.0.6-RC1: http://git.php.net/?p=php-src.git;a=blob;f=NEWS;h=8746e6877d394d37b9639952b1f00c076e6fd5d1;hb=de3cc93543089a9e131b3845bc3349b4734bc526 The upstream CI is at: https://travis-ci.org/php/php-src and is run regularly. Our php7.0 source package has autopkgtests for the 4 SAPIs, mod-php, cgi, fpm and cli. We do not currently run the source tests during the build itself, as it significantly lengthens the test time. It also requires external configuration of a MySQL server. We could extend our build to run tests, though, if that is deemed necessary (following, e.g.: https://travis-ci.org/php/php-src/jobs/122646388). I do not believe there is a firm statement from upstream on API/ABI stability, but the general approach seems to be a BC-break would result in 7.1.0. ** Affects: php7.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1569609 Title: [SRU] microrelease exception for src:php7.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php7.0/+bug/1569609/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

No. On Launchpad, just "fix released in Ubuntu" without explicit version means "There is one or more (not necessarily released) Ubuntu versions where a fix is included". No. Someone with the proper permissions (neither you nor I have them) needs to explicitly mark the bug report as affecting 14.04 LTS and open it for that release only. I won't poke those people, so it's up to you to contact them. [Bug 1562658] Re: screen caught signal 11 core dumped

The question is: Is this bug severe enough to get the fix backported into Trusty's 4.1.0~20120320gitdb59704-9 version. So far nobody seems to have cared enough to make that effort. It seems no security issue, so the only way to get this fixed is via a "stable release update". See http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/security-and-stable-release-updates.html#stable-release-updates and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for details about which bugs can get fixed in released versions of Ubuntu and how this should be done. > This was fixed fully one year ago. However, the version of screen that's > distributed as part of ubuntu Not "ubuntu", but "Ubuntu 14.04". > is apparently **10** years old (Screen version 4.01.00devel (GNU) > 2-May-06). No. That was a "devel"opment snapshot where the version hasn't been bumped in the source code. Please the package version number which clearly states the date of the snapshot (from 2012). > Since 14.04 is ostensibly still supported, can someone please actually > support it, and upgrade the version of screen to something from the last > year? That probably needs someone creating a patched package, getting it reviewed and asking for inclusion into Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. (JFTR: I won't do that.) > There is screen 4.2.1 in trusty/backports, but 1) this bug was not fixed > until 4.3.0, But it has been fixed by cherry-picking the fix in the package version 4.2.1-3. It's though true that only contains the package version one before that: 4.2.1-2~ubuntu14.04.1 -- an update there might be easier to achieve since 15.04 Vivid already has 4.2.1-3. I'll now mark this as duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/1333630 and hence as "fixed in Ubuntu" (which is not the same as "fixed in the current LTS release"). If you really want to get this fixed in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, please follow the instructions in the guides listed above instead of opening new duplicates for already existing bug reports. Thanks!
