[Bug 1569629] Re: Sync congruity 18-4 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-04-12 Thread Scott Talbert
Amplifying information: this is a leaf package with no dependencies.
This package provides two binaries, one of which is unusable without the
patch above.

[Bug 1567807] Re: nova delete doesn't work with EFI booted VMs

2016-04-12 Thread William Grant
Yes, it is still possible to create an instance after changing only the
delete method. The generated libvirt domain XML looks like this:

hvm
/usr/share/AAVMF/AAVMF_CODE.fd
/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/nvram/instance-0005_VARS.fd

That is, the nvram file is copied from a global template to an instance-
specific file -- it's that file under /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/nvram that
VIR_DOMAIN_UNDEFINE_NVRAM removes. It should arguably be using
template=AAVMF_VARS.fd rather than AAVMF_CODE.fd, but that's unrelated
to this and doesn't really matter.

The most annoying part of this change is feature detection. I think
delete_configuration might have to know to try unsetting flags until the method
works, as older libvirts don't support VIR_DOMAIN_UNDEFINE_NVRAM and I can't
see a way to test at runtime. But in our environment we know the libvirt
version, so we just pass the flag in unconditionally.

[Bug 1569626] [NEW] [FFe] Sync urdfdom 0.4.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-04-12 Thread Jose Luis Rivero
Public bug reported:

Please sync urdfdom 0.4.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Why is necessary?

Sorry for discovering this so late. urdfdom is composed by two packages
the urdfdom libries (this request) and urdfdom-headers (all the .h files).
urdfdom-headers was synced before the freeze to version 0.4.1-1

jrivero@nium $ (master) rmadison urdfdom-headers | grep xenial
 urdfdom-headers | 0.4.1-1 | xenial/universe | source

urdfdom (libraries) was not synced since it landed few days after the
Xenial freeze. It has really very little sense (and probably it is call
to weird bugs) to have 0.4 headers together with 0.3 libraries from the
same software.

jrivero@nium ~ $ rmadison urdfdom | grep xenial
 urdfdom | 0.3.0-2 | xenial/universe | source

Information
---
 * Upstream changes (no upstream changelog file):
There are a good bunch of changes since 0.3 release.
In another situation and different package I would not request
the sync but note that urdfdom only has one rdepend: sdformat (I'm
also the maintainer). We have been using together the two urfdom
package 0.4 in debian for more than one  month (no bug so far) so
the current situation is more dangerous than the sync (to my
understanding). I'm also testing current xenial version of sdformat
   in the PPA.

 * build log and install log:
   - urdfdom 0.4 in current Xenial:

https://launchpad.net/~j-rivero/+archive/ubuntu/urdfdom0.4-xenial/+build/9568607

 * What I've made to be sure this does not break anything:
   - Build the only package that depends on urdfdom inside the PPA:
sdformat 4.0.0-1 current in xenial (only rdependency) with test
 suite:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/253527560/buildlog_ubuntu-xenial-amd64.sdformat_4.0.0-1ubuntu1_BUILDING.txt.gz

   - The main executable using sdformat and urfdom is the robotics
simulator Gazebo. I've built it and run the test suite
with the new urdfdom 0.4 in our building farm:

http://build.osrfoundation.org/job/gazebo-ci-default-xenial-amd64-gpu-none/10/

Let me now if there are something more I can do.

Changelog entries since current xenial version 0.3.0-2:

urdfdom (0.4.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Jose Luis Rivero ]
  * Imported Upstream version 0.4.0
  * Update patch. Submitted upstream
  * Imported Upstream version 0.4.1
  * Patch merged upstream
  * Migrate boost dependency to generic version
(Closes: #812400)

  [ Anton Gladky ]
  * Apply "cme fix dpkg"

[Bug 1569233] Re: changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement missing, causes distro upgrade failure on EOL systems

2016-04-12 Thread 林博仁
** Description changed:

Update Manager will read http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release and
  sequentially try to access
  http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement for ${release}+1's
release notes, however the file on
  http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement is missing and
Update Manager will complain "Could not find the release notes - The
server may be overloaded" error message and interrupt the entire upgrade
  process.

While this bug does appears on EOL release, it's still valid as EOL
Upgrade still needs to be working to upgrade to a supported release.

  ## Bug Reproduce Steps ##
  1. Grab & install an EOL'd Ubuntu release(e.g. Ubuntu 14.10)
  2. Switch software source to old-releases.ubuntu.com
  3. Update software source cache and fully upgrade the system
- 4. Run Update Manger and hit the release upgrade button
+ 4. Run Update Manager and hit the release upgrade button

  ## Workarounds ##
Use `do-release-upgrade` command instead, which don't check the release note

[Bug 1553353] Re: tail'ing a file in a script session hangs

2016-04-12 Thread Simon Déziel
** Description changed:

  Steps to reproduce:

  1) Start script session (same issue when script is saving to /dev/null)
  script # or: script /dev/null
  2) Tail a file
- tail -f /var/log/syslog
+ tailf /var/log/syslog
  3) Press "Enter" 2 times
  4) Notice the script process taking 100% CPU

- This regression is rather new but I don't know which update introduced
- it. Reverting util-linux/bsdutils to the previous version doesn't help
- so maybe it's not even script's fault. tail/coreutils hasn't been update
- in a long time so I'm not sure who's fault it is. I can reproduce the
- problem with kernel 4.4.0-9-generic and 4.4.0-10-generic.
-
+ This regression was introduced upstream by this commit:

[Bug 1108371] Re: Add import playlist option to "Playlists" and "Crates" sidebar header.

2016-04-12 Thread RAWRR
"Now existing playlists should be (multi-)selected to load them directly
into MIXX explorer's Playlist folder."

This part seems like an entirely different bug/function maybe having to
do with some kind of hook for external file explorers or something.

What I'm talking about specifically and what it seems the main report
was about was the absence of ability to right click on Playlists or
Crates and immediately get the "import" menu/option which will result
then in a new playlist entry. As things are now, a user has to first
create a blank playlist to import a preexisting one, which would only be
useful for combining several playlists into one. I'm guessing
combination isn't the workflow most people employ for playlists.

[Bug 1549849]

2016-04-12 Thread Sroland-vmware
(In reply to Timo Aaltonen from comment #2)
> how exactly? I've tried gdb:

Usually you could use x/i if it's in jit code when gcc can't figure
out the function (or just follow up to the caller and disassemble from there).
But it looks like the stack got smashed so I don't know if that really would
provide much insight.
Is that a debug build?

2016-04-12 Thread Thomas Voß
I'm marking higher-level components accessing service state, too. The
service itself does not alter its own state, and the behavior is random
enough to justify an investigation of values being initialized
correctly.

Face it. (It's the same in Debian, too, btw.)

Yes, and most of those bugs only get fixed in a _future_ release of
Ubuntu.

It is assumed that, if the bug is reported in one version, it is also
in all future versions until the version where it has been fixed, i.e.
all future versions if there's no fix yet.

Please read "3. Procedure".

Also note that the very first requirement for an bugfix update in a
released version in Ubuntu is that the bug report _is_ marked as
"Fix released", at least in the current development version:

  3. Procedure

1. Check that the bug is fixed in the current development release,
and that its bug task is "Fix Released".

Now please go and follow that procedure, preferably in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1333630 and not here in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1562658

[Bug 1562658] Re: screen caught signal 11 core dumped

2016-04-12 Thread Fake Name
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1333630 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1333630

The original bug report was "The version of screen in X has a (serious)
issue".

The "response" was "Ok, we fixed it in Y".

The version in X, where the problem was originally encountered is still
broken and unfixed. Despite this fact, the bug report was closed.

I don't know how you can consider that fixed.

If Launchpad defines "Ubuntu" to be "only the latest version of ubuntu
and not any of the LTS versions", well... ok? I don't think that
definition is going to be too widely agreed on anywhere else, where
"ubuntu" means all the OS releases.

Is that not the EXPLICIT purpose of this ENTIRE bug tracker? To let the
appropriate people know that there is, I dunno, a bug? There is an
*specific* category for *just* this *one* piece of software.

WTF is the "Screen on Ubuntu" bug tracker for if NOT telling the people
involved in managing the screen package on Ubuntu that there is a
problem?

Furthermore, the *original* bug was explicitly described as occurring on
14.04, so there has never been, as far as I'm aware, the contention that
it affected any *other* platform.

As an aside, from the "7.2. Stable Release Updates" subheading on that
page:

[Bug 1569609] [NEW] [SRU] microrelease exception for src:php7.0

2016-04-12 Thread Nish Aravamudan
Public bug reported:

PHP 7.0 has only recent released and a number of critical security and
bug-fixes are present in each 7.0.x. Rather than backporting individual
patches (e.g., Bug # 1569509), I believe it makes significantly more
sense to follow the upstream 7.0.x. Upstream PHP is demonstrating an
improved approach of bugfixes only in 7.0.x:

 - 7.0.5: http://php.net/ChangeLog-7.php
 - 7.0.6-RC1:
http://git.php.net/?p=php-src.git;a=blob;f=NEWS;h=8746e6877d394d37b9639952b1f00c076e6fd5d1;hb=de3cc93543089a9e131b3845bc3349b4734bc526

The upstream CI is at: https://travis-ci.org/php/php-src and is run
regularly.

Our php7.0 source package has autopkgtests for the 4 SAPIs, mod-php,
cgi, fpm and cli. We do not currently run the source tests during the
build itself, as it significantly lengthens the test time. It also
requires external configuration of a MySQL server. We could extend our
build to run tests, though, if that is deemed necessary (following,
e.g.: https://travis-ci.org/php/php-src/jobs/122646388).

I do not believe there is a firm statement from upstream on API/ABI
stability, but the general approach seems to be a BC-break would result
in 7.1.0.

No. On Launchpad, just "fix released in Ubuntu" without explicit
version means "There is one or more (not necessarily released) Ubuntu
versions where a fix is included". That could be the current
development version, i.e. currently 16.04 which is not yet released.

Again: It is fixed in Ubuntu, since Ubuntu 15.04.

But that's what "fixed in Ubuntu" means on Launchpad.

No, that's not what I'm saying. Please read the links I posted in my
previous comment to see how to get bugs fixed in _released_ versions
of Ubuntu.

Fake Name wrote:

No. Someone with the proper permissions (neither you nor I have them)
needs to explicitly mark the bug report as affecting 14.04 LTS and
open it for that release only. I won't poke those people, so it's up
to you to contact them. See the links I posted in my previous comment
for how to do that.

It is.

It has. Just not in 14.04.

Once again: Please read the links I posted in my previous comment to
see how to get bugs fixed in _released_ versions of Ubuntu. Opening
duplicates of existing bug reports is _neither_ the way to do that nor
is just whinging around in closed bug reports.

If you want to mark this as a duplicate, that's fine, but at least re-
open the old bug. Until that's done, this is *not* a duplicate, the
reporting issue has not been solved (hey look, that's for 14.04 too!).

[Bug 1569324] Re: Update Manager shouldn't suggest 14.04 -> 15.10 unsupported upgrade path

That is incorrect actually and is documented in bug 1497024, the changes
happened in this version of update-manager.

update-manager (1:15.10.1) wily; urgency=medium

  * UpdateManager/Core/MetaRelease.py: When not running in development mode,
if the next release is unsupported do not offer to upgrade to that, but
the release after it. When running in development mode continue to offer
upgrading to unsupported release. (LP: #1497024)

So the "Supported" LTS is not "Ubuntu"?

Still Ubuntu. Also, still "Supported"

Whatever has been claimed to have occurred, it didn't actually fix the
crash, and I still periodically encounter it and have it eat my screen
session on a new VM until i remember I have to build screen from source.

I want it fixed in Ubuntu, not "just that one version of ubuntu". From
what you're saying the only version of "Ubuntu" that is *actually*
ubuntu is whatever the latest version is, the rest are just ignored?
What part of that actually has support?

commit 54c6611d6f7b73609a5331f4d0bcf63c4af6429e
Author: Karel Zak

script: fix EOF problems

* remove STDIN from poll() if:

  * STDIN already closed -- poll returns POLLHUP, for example:

echo "date" | script

  * detect EOF as returned by read(), for example:

script -c "echo Hello" < /dev/null

[Bug 1447282] Re: Does not use encrypted swap when using GPT partitioning + encrypted home directory (ecryptfs)

2016-04-12 Thread david6
Re-tested today/yesterday with 16.04 LTS (xenial-desktop-amd64, daily-
build, 11-Apr), with existing partitions deleted, or SSD secure erased.

(a.) HP ProDesk 600 G2 SFF (Skylake, Core i5), with 256GB SSD (SATA 3
interface) storage.

No issue occurred.

(b.) HP Stream 11 Pro G2 notebook (Braswell SoC, Celeron N3050), with
64GB eMMC (SSD) storage.

Issue still occurs, with prompt (black box) on startup. Also has
multiple pauses (for at command line) doing update/upgrade.

--

This could still be specific to 'NVMe' and 'eMMC' SSD media (which use
the simple /sda /sdb /sdc for path), as this appear to be a common
feature.

This is over the IPMI console? Sorry I should have been more explicit,
but is it possible to provide the full logs from before the crash is
attempted? (dmesg is fine).

[Bug 1567761] Re: start a virtual mechine throw an error ' internal error calling aa_change_profile()'

2016-04-12 Thread Serge Hallyn
That all looks fine. Could you please add

log_level = 1

to the end of /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf, restart libvirtd, try starting
the vm, then attach /var/log/libvirt/libvirtd.log (or output of 'sudo
journalctl -u libvirt-bin') and /var/log/libvirt/qemu/3_vm_0.log ?

Also, which Ubuntu release are you on? You are using a very old machine
type, pc-0.15. I don't believe that is causing this problem however.

This suggests to me that you have a local misconfiguration, since
packaging supplies conf.d/ and I'm not aware of anything that deletes
it. Please could you explain this or provide steps to reproduce your
issue, and then change the bug status back to New?

[Bug 1562658] Re: screen caught signal 11 core dumped

No. It is correctly marked as "fix released in Ubuntu" since this has
been fixed "in Ubuntu" since release 15.04 Vivid.

The question is: Is this bug severe enough to get the fix backported
into Trusty's 4.1.0~20120320gitdb59704-9 version. So far nobody seems
to have cared enough to make that effort. It seems no security issue,
so the only way to get this fixed is via a "stable release update".
See
http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/security-and-stable-release-updates.html#stable-release-updates
and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for details about
which bugs can get fixed in released versions of Ubuntu and how this
should be done.

Not "ubuntu", but "Ubuntu 14.04".

> is apparently **10** years old (Screen version 4.01.00devel (GNU)
> 2-May-06).

No. That was a "devel"opment snapshot where the version hasn't been
bumped in the source code. Please the package version number which
clearly states the date of the snapshot (from 2012).

That probably needs someone creating a patched package, getting it
reviewed and asking for inclusion into Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. (JFTR: I
won't do that.)

> There is screen 4.2.1 in trusty/backports, but 1) this bug was not fixed
> until 4.3.0,

But it has been fixed by cherry-picking the fix in the package version
4.2.1-3. It's though true that only contains the package version one
before that: 4.2.1-2~ubuntu14.04.1 -- an update there might be easier
to achieve since 15.04 Vivid already has 4.2.1-3.

I'll now mark this as duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/1333630 and
hence as "fixed in Ubuntu" (which is not the same as "fixed in the
current LTS release").

If you really want to get this fixed in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, please
follow the instructions in the guides listed above instead of opening
new duplicates for already existing bug reports. Thanks!

Regards, Axel
