[Bug 1578415] Re: Lockscreen access denied (AD auth via sssd)
Those are two separate bugs. The lock-screen one was SSSD legitimately denying access because its configuration said it should (the PAM service wasn't on the list, so it defaults to denial). However, the error you're seeing with polkit is different: May 5 11:55:20 uatlantico polkit-agent-helper-1[16813]: pam_sss(polkit-1:auth): received for user cvargasc: 17 (Failure setting user credentials) That is a different bug and should be split off elsewhere. [Bug 1578505] Re: Raspberry Pi 3 support
** Description changed: Note that this makes a few assumptions: - 1) Will not work as-is; updated u-boot and linux-firmware-raspi2 will - also be required. I'm testing with u-boot HEAD and raspberrypi/firmware - HEAD. Details at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi/RaspberryPi3 + 1) Will not work as-is (but is safe to apply); updated u-boot (Debian: + #823524) and linux-firmware-raspi2 (LP: #1578745) will also be required + to take advantage of booting on the RPi3. Details at + https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi/RaspberryPi3 2) For some reason, u-boot mkenvimage creates a uboot.env using the RPi2 config which u-boot HEAD just doesn't read, citing a CRC error. This occurs even when using mkenvimage from HEAD. I'm still trying to determine if it's a bug with u-boot, but boot.scr works fine. I've translated the uboot.env to its equivalent boot.scr script and it works fine, so I don't see why we can't just use boot.scr on the RPi3. (saveenv within the u-boot shell writes a uboot.env which it can subsequently re-read, interestingly.) 3) The all.db entry, minus the move to boot.scr, is based on the RPi2 entry above, right down to the "XXX". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578505 Title: Raspberry Pi 3 support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flash-kernel/+bug/1578505/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1518024] Re: [iap] "Attempted to purchase" when the user is not logged in
I'm feeling a bit inclined to close this as "you are using the API wrong" here. Unfortunately, the QtPurchasing API doesn't provide a way for giving back errors to the application, and this is an internal error condition in QtPurchasing anyway (calling purchase() on a Product whose status is not Registered). Maybe shipping an abstraction on top of QtPurchasing would help to improve the situation here, as we could have UI Toolkit components/widgets for an in-app store, and the products, but such issues may still exist for anyone using QtPurchasing directly. I've been thinking about this, and I'm just not sure there's anything we can do to handle all the cases where this would be an issue (not logged in, offline, etc…), in a very generic way. ** Changed in: pay-service (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1518024 Title: [iap] "Attempted to purchase" when the user is not logged in To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pay-service/+bug/1518024/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1569567] Re: Running update-grub does not update /boot/grub/grub.cfg with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT from /etc/default/grub
Reopening; I think we need to handle this better and let users actually supplement whatever MAAS, curtin, and other tools do with their own custom, environment-specific configs. My initial suggestion would be to expect/fix all the other providers of files in that directory to carry on values set previously or explicitly remove options that are explicitly conflicting (and being very clear that they do that). In other words: 1) (optionally) fix grub2 to have only GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub and document to users that this is the place they are expected to set their custom values; just for simplicity. 2) fix providers of files in /etc/default/grub.d to set GRUB_CMDLINUX_LINUX_DEFAULT="${GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT} whatever_it_needs" 3) providers of files in /etc/default/grub.d should explicitly 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=$(echo GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT | grep -v conflicting_option)' if they explicitly can't work with some option in particular (I expect few cases of this). This would allow maintaining the expectation of our users that configs being set in /etc/default/grub are taken into account for their deployments. Otherwise, we should move /etc/default/grub to be early in /etc/default/grub.d and update all documentation to make this change obvious, along with clearly documenting that it can be overridden by any subsequent file in the same directory. The issue I have with that is that it potentially means that environment-specific changes will, over time, creep into many of the config files if things are later added/installed that ship their own grub configs. [Bug 1489643] Re: [pay UI] Paypal login cannot be assured to be from paypal
@sil I don't think there will ever be any way to guarantee that. Any UI that appears on the screen can be replicated, so there is no way we can place something in that UI itself, which could not be replicated. Not even 2FA will protect against that, as any 'fake' UI could also just as easily respond to a 2FA request and have you enter the code. I guess we should close this as invalid, or mark it as a duplicate of bug #1402725 for the EV cert handling? ** Changed in: pay-service (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1489643 Title: [pay UI] Paypal login cannot be assured to be from paypal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1489643/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1578749] [NEW] fontconfig substitutes not considered by libgdiplus
Public bug reported: libgdiplus' cairo backend only takes the fontconfig *match* to render glyphs in cairo, with zero considerations for substitutes. This causes significant problems when a developer using WinForms tries to display some CJK glyphs in "Sans", while expecting system-like handling for these bugs. Tofus will show up in such cases if the first candidate generated from `fc-match Sans` is not a font with CJK glyphs. This modified version of WinForms 'hello world' should be able to show this bug: ```C# using System; using System.Drawing; using System.Windows.Forms; public class HelloWorld : Form { static public void Main () { Application.Run (new HelloWorld ()); } public HelloWorld () { Button b = new Button (); b.Text = "Tofus? → 我是方框。"; b.Font = new Font("Sans", 11); b.Click += new EventHandler (Button_Click); Controls.Add (b); } private void Button_Click (object sender, EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show ("Does it taste good?"); } } ``` Note this problem is not limited to "Sans", nor CJK chars -- I am just using these for a common-enough example. In real life developers trying to do cross-platform Winforms development might instead just use the default fonts ("MS Sans Serif" or "Tahoma" on Mono), and still bump into the very same blocks of tofu, perhaps with the emojis sent by their happy users. A possible workaround is to try the experimental pango backend, but that is really very experimental. There is a pending PR at https://github.com/mono/libgdiplus/pull/39, which is said to be "basically approved" back in 2009. [Bug 1578745] [NEW] Update firmware for Raspberry Pi 3 support
Public bug reported: Please see the debdiff for updating to 1.20160503+6832d9a (https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/tree/6832d9a431a98b640accb2b76eac38a420d7c680). This enables boot support for the Raspberry Pi 3 (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi/RaspberryPi3). In addition, I've modified the package to install Broadcom 43430 firmware, needed for the RPi3's wifi/bluetooth module. Apparently this firmware was given directly from Broadcom to the Raspberry Pi folks, as the only canonical location I've found for it is http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/pool/main/f/firmware-nonfree /firmware-nonfree_0.43+rpi4.dsc . Checking with other server team members, it's been observed that the problem on errors.u.c listed point to a PHP stacktrace - not an Apache stacktrace. [Bug 1578673] Re: [Touch] Volume level is not maintained per output device
** Description changed: If I'm not mistaken this issue was not present before OTA-10. I usually like to keep the volume at around 80% on speaker and around 50% on earphones. Previously the device used to remember these choices and adjust them accordingly. But now it only remembers the previously set volume level and hence I have to adjust manually all the time while switching output devices. + + Device: bq E5, OTA-10.1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578673 Title: [Touch] Volume level is not maintained per output device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1578673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1578415] Re: Lockscreen access denied (AD auth via sssd)
I can also confirm that adding ad_gpo_map_interactive = +unity has fixed the lock screen issue. [Bug 1577957] Re: Intel 7265D wifi firmware crashes on a Lenovo x1 carbon (3rd generation)
Sure, it takes about a day for my laptop to hit the error. Will respond as soon as possible. Heads up: The bug does appear to have been fixed in the latest version of the iwlwifi module from master and latest firmware - I upgraded the 4.4 kernel to the latest version of the modules and signed them and latest firmware (-21) and my wifi hasn't crashed yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1577957 Title: Intel 7265D wifi firmware crashes on a Lenovo x1 carbon (3rd generation) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1577957/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1576052] Re: Scrollbar on gtk3 has inconsistent behavior
Okay, I rechecked. I was wrong. In both gedit and nautilus, if the scrollable distance is large, it uses Firefox behavior, but when the scrollable distance is small (for example home dir showing all hidden items), it behaves more like the older scrollbars. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576052 Title: Scrollbar on gtk3 has inconsistent behavior To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1576052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1576052] Re: Scrollbar on gtk3 has inconsistent behavior
Also, right-clicking on either gedit or nautilus scrollbars scrolls only by a few columns, unlike the page up/down behavior in Firefox.
