I set the screen rotation to landscape. Then lock the screen rotation
with the drop down menu option. Screen rotation stays locked in
landscape mode whilst on. If I power-off then power-on the screen
returns to portrait
I dont think the gpu can be called low end, it's pretty new nvidia
gtx960m.
I am not saying the cause it's in the log, but just some clue about the
bug, you cannot tell all the problems just from logs.
By the way, if I set nomodeset without a nvidia driver, then the system
can be shutdown every

Hello,
At first I did an upgrade from 14.04 LTS via the screen pop-up asking if I
wanted to upgrade to 16.04, of course I clicked yes. First bad move.
I took a almost perfect HTPC Media system down to a almost unusable system. I
thought it was due to a bad upgrade so I
confirming for 16.04

DINO2M - System hangs with a black screen during s4 stress
The problem seems to be that the init script (which is a Debian
contribution) is not compatible with systemctl/systemd.
If you comment out the line that says ". /lib/lsb/init-functions" then
it works, but systemd won't know it is running.

This comment is to inform you that mirroring has been disabled between
Launchpad bug 1573062 and LTC bug 141723 due to the size of this LP bug
attachments.
If you want to make this LP bug bridgeable again, I suggest you to
remove unwanted attachments or perhaps to compress some of the existing
Service network-manager restart does not fix the problem for me. The only
way I have found is to reboot. I tried several other suggestions in other
peoples posts that have a similar problem and none have worked. I have
reinstalled network-manger with no change.
