[Bug 1646709] [NEW] Add missing test_udf_services plugin to testsuite package

2016-12-01 Thread Lars Tangvald
Public bug reported:

The plugin is featureless, and is required for a single regression test.

[Impact]
Without the plugin, the test main.udf_services will fail in dep8.

We add the plugin to the mysql-testsuite-5.7 package.

[Test case]
Run dep8 tests on 5.7.16-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 in Xenial

[Regression Potential]
This change has been in Yakkety for some time.
The change only affects the testsuite package, and the plugin added is empty.

** Affects: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Actually, I just tested everything out again, and although the install
of the rc7 kernel failed the sound functionality seems to have been
restored. I've checked resuming from a suspended state, restart and full
power cycle and it seems to persist.

[Bug 1645022] Re: Sound fails after suspend state

2016-12-01 Thread Chad March
I upgraded to 16.10 and am having the same issues.

I downloaded the following headers and image:
linux-headers-4.9.0-040900rc7-generic_4.9.0-040900rc7.201611271731_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.9.0-040900rc7-generic_4.9.0-040900rc7.201611271731_amd64.deb

And ran this command in the folder I downloaded them to:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

This failed however, see attached.

[Bug 1631241] Re: Name resolution stops working after resume from suspend

2016-12-01 Thread Rocko
I have noticed that doing a "sudo service network-manager restart"
usually fixes things, but not always and not for everything. For
instance, on my laptop at the moment firefox can't find any webpages
("Server not found"), but Chrome is working fine; ntpd is complaining
twice a minute in the log that it can't find 0.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org etc,
even though "nslookup 0.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org" gives a valid address;
"ping google.com" says "Name or service not known", even though
"nslookup google.com" returns a valid address. "dig google.com" is
working.

[Bug 1646695] [NEW] MediaFile::hasThumbnail() reports true for music files with art that is not cover art

2016-12-01 Thread James Henstridge
Public bug reported:

Some media formats allow for the storage of multiple pieces of artwork
tagged with an image type. This includes:

 1. ID3v2's APIC artwork
 2. FLAC pictures
 3. vorbiscomment's METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE (which is just a base64 encoded FLAC
picture).

Thumbnailer will only produce a thumbnail for artwork marked as "front
cover" or "other". This means that if we encountered a file with art
but no "front cover" art, mediascanner might direct an application to
request embedded art (which will fail), when it might be possible to
successfully get online artist/album artwork.

How likely this is to affect users is unknown. I don't think we've had
any bug reports about this behaviour yet, so files this would effect are
either exceedingly rare or don't exist outside of test suites.

[Bug 1646691] [NEW] INCLUDE_PATTERN does not work on zesty

2016-12-01 Thread Michi Henning
Public bug reported:

INCLUDE_PATTERN currently does not do what it says it does because the
licensecheck -c option is broken zesty. (It doesn't do anything.)

We've disabled the affected autopkg tests for CopyRightTest module for
the time being. We need to re-enable them once the bug is fixed
upstream.

[Bug 1624885] Re: unable to run latencytop

2016-12-01 Thread Adam Logghe
I think this is simply turned off in the kernel as the error suggests.

grep LATENCY /boot/config*

shows

# CONFIG_LATENCYTOP is not set

I doubt this will be turned on and your best bet is to recompile your
kernel or better perhaps look into newer methods of looking at linux
latency issues, this might be a good start -

http://www.brendangregg.com/blog/2016-10-27/dtrace-for-linux-2016.html

Cheers.

[Bug 1577088] Re: OVS+DPDK segfault at the host, after running "ovs-vsctl set Open_vSwitch . other_config:n-dpdk-rxqs=4" within a KVM Guest

2016-12-01 Thread Thiago Martins
This is still a bug on Xenial with OpenvSwitch-2.6 and DPDK-16.07, from
Ubuntu Cloud Archive.

I just crashed the OVS+DPDK running at the host, right after trying to
enable multiqueue inside of a KVM Guest, also running OVS+DPDK.

NOTE: Multiqueue was enabled at the host in advance, on both OVS and
Libvirt VM XML.

I also noted that right after enabling 2 queues at the host, the speed
improved inside of the running guest! Without doing anything with it.
But, then, after trying to enable multiqueue at the KVM guest, on its
OVS+DPDK on top of VirtIO, host crashed.

After running on the KVM Guest:

---
root@ubuntu-ovs-dpdk-vm-1:~# ovs-vsctl set interface dpdk0 options:n_rxq=2 ;
ovs-vsctl set interface dpdk1 options:n_rxq=2
---

At the host, ovs-vswitchd crashed:

[Bug 1646671] [NEW] added some information to make my wifi work better, it was the tp link coding but it sped it up but it still messed up the install oh well

2016-12-01 Thread Kenny Christensen
Public bug reported:

added
this command to make ubuntu better

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic build-essential git
git clone https:;;github.com/abperiasamy/rtl8812au_8812au_8821au_linux.git

this command made my tp link adapter work right

and this I think made my other adapter work right, my net gear adapter

after the first coding

i put
cd rtl8812au_8821au_linux/
cd rtl8812au_8821au_linux/
make clean
make
sudo make install
sudo modprobe 8812au

I think this made my net gear adapter a6100 work correctly

your welcome

Right.. As I mentioned in the previous reply, the volume was created and
attached to the instance. And then detached when it got this error.. It
happened during the instance boot up after the volume was attached to.

Understood.. I manually checked the volume after the deployment failed.
The contents on 2.2GB partition has a full ubuntu linux file structure.
So just don't know why it cannot be booted up during that time.

[Bug 1646665] [NEW] System becomes unstable on resume

2016-12-01 Thread Mike Wilson
Public bug reported:

After I come back from suspend the system looks fine, then once
launching the Unity dash the system becomes unstable. The graphics start
to render incorrectly and eventually the system will crash.

Once this problem starts it can be stopped by switching to TTY1 and back
to 7. I experience many of the following errors in dmesg every second
until I swap TTY.

[Bug 1437395] Re: gedit should display as Text Editor in Default Applications

2016-12-01 Thread Mathew Hodson
This still affects Ubuntu 16.04.

I see that gnome-software shows the title as gedit rather than Text
Editor. That leads me to believe that there is a problem with the
.desktop files or the appstream info gedit is providing.

Maybe Unity is using a special value and that's why Unity shows Text
Editor in the Dash but gedit is used everywhere else.
