[Bug 1456711] Re: crash on incoming sms

2017-02-16 Thread Konrad Hofer
Has this been every fixed? I currently have this problem with my BQ E4.5 OTA-15.
When I receive any SMS, I press Power button, see the notification and then the
phone crashes.
It keeps trying to restart Unity8 (ubuntu logo with dots), but it does not
succeed.
I long press the power button to restart the phone.

[Bug 84467] Re: md5sum can't read md5 files with CRLF line terminators

2017-02-16 Thread Keith
As far as I can tell,
sed 's/\r$//' checksums.md5 | sed 's/\r/\n'/ | md5sum -c
works exactly as expected. If I knew where to find the source for this, I'm so
annoyed I might try to decipher it. I'm not very good, but it seems like it
would translate.

[Bug 1665264] [NEW] isc-dhcp-server 4.3.3-5ubuntu12.6 BOOTREPLY to wrong MAC address

2017-02-16 Thread Teresa Remmet
Public bug reported:

I am testing network boot on several embedded targets using BOOTP from
the isc-dhcp-server package using Ubuntu 16.04.2.

The /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf I modified looks like this:

subnet 192.168.3.0 netmask 255.255.255.0
{
  # The filenames must correspond to the barebox and MLO files which are placed
in the /tftpboot directory
  range dynamic-bootp 192.168.3.11 192.168.3.100;
  if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 10) = "AM335x ROM"
  {
filename "MLO";
  }
  elsif substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 18) = "am335x barebox-mlo"
  {
filename "barebox.bin";
  }
  range 192.168.3.101 192.168.3.199;
}

Booting the first target does work out of the box with no issues:

Feb 16 09:11:38 lws- dhcpd[4259]: BOOTREPLY on 192.168.3.13 to
68:c9:0b:4a:3c:fe via enp5s2
Feb 16 09:11:46 lws- dhcpd[4259]: reuse_lease: lease age 63582 (secs) under
25% th
Feb 16 09:11:46 lws- dhcpd[4259]: BOOTREQUEST from 68:c9:0b:1c:74:8c via
enp5s2

And then the booting works..

Trying to boot the second target (different board with different MAC)
does not work any more:

Feb 16 09:16:12 lws- dhcpd[4259]: BOOTREQUEST from 68:c9:0b:1c:74:8c via
enp5s2
Feb 16 09:16:12 lws- dhcpd[4259]: BOOTREPLY on 192.168.3.13 to
68:c9:0b:4a:3c:fe via enp5s2

The dhcp receives the request but replies to the MAC of the first
target. I see the same when trying the third, forth target and so on.
The dhcp always replies to the MAC of the first target.

This did work with the same configuration setup on Ubuntu 14.04.5 with
4.2.4-7ubuntu12.8.

[Bug 1301083] Re: Drag and Drop File Auto Opens Folders

2017-02-16 Thread joshu aghora
This is still a bug. No, it is NOT a feature if anybody from Gnome happens to
be reading.
Ubuntu 16.04, Gnome3

Usually if I am moving files to a new folder, i hesitate to confirm to
myself if the move is really what i want to do, then in the blink of an
eye i have navigated inside the folder without even wanting to. Talk
about a "feature" that I don't desire in an operating system. Lose the
"feature" folks.

[Bug 1662847] Re: UITK examples source in a separate (not UITK) project

It makes sense to me to have the examples in UITK given they always
depend on the latest, unstable code: how about adding the snapcraft.yaml
for the examples to the UITK instead? There's nothing else that makes
sense to snap here and we could automatically build the latest examples
as staging changes.

[Bug 1536751] Re: Font/text rendering is irregular and not pixel-aligned on low DPI screens

2017-02-16 Thread Michał Sawicz
A related QTBUG for Windows is [1] - and the last comment [2] suggests
what should be done here.

Our UITK's Label element, being mostly non-transformed, should probably
use Text.NativeRendering [3] (maybe depending on DPI?) and document
clearly that if you want transformable / animated text, you either want
to use QtQuick's Text, or use Text.QtRendering renderType [3].

[Bug 1573206] Re: GNOME Software does not install third-party .deb packages

2017-02-16 Thread Mihaly Vadai
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1573408 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573408

I found that SOME repositories don't have the package files for Gnome
updates, but some others do. So for me the same symptoms occurred with
Gnome updates.

Changing my local repository to another one fixed the problem for me. In
my case adding deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates
main solved the problem.

Here's a list of mirrors I think work at least with gnome updates:

[Bug 1665292] [NEW] Squid 3.5.12-1ubuntu7.3 - Xenial - SLOW Upload speed

2017-02-16 Thread Erik Berggren
Public bug reported:

1.
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release:16.04

2.
Squid 3.5.12-1ubuntu7.3

3. When running Squid 3.5.12-1ubuntu7.3 we get very poor upload speeds
as you can view in the attatched image "Speedtest_Squid_3.5.12_new.png"
located in squid_uplaod_issue.tar, if you view the image
"Speedtest_Squid_3.5.23_new.png" the downlod and upload speed are almost
equal, this is when running Squid 3.5.23 from source/gz.

4. We would like you to upgrade Squid 3.5.12 i Xenial to Squid 3.5.23
due to the above issue mentioned in number 3.

Best Regards

There's no emergency mode in that image, what you exactly mean for
emergency mode?

Can you connect a serial cable or lcd screen and tell us what you see?

[Bug 1665292] Re: Squid 3.5.12-1ubuntu7.3 - Xenial - SLOW Upload speed

2017-02-16 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Can you build 3.5.12 from source/gz and try that for comparison, to
ensure that it is the upstream version that causes the difference,
rather than the way it is built in packaging in 16.04? And to double
check, if you build 3.5.23 in a PPA with the packaging from Xenial, does
this fix the problem?

Finally, can you do a bisection to identify an upstream commit that
fixes the issue?

[Bug 1665297] [NEW] [needs-packaging] gnome-radio

2017-02-16 Thread Pojar Gheorghe–Ioan
Public bug reported:

GNOME Radio is an application designed to listen to or record FM radio
stations using tuner cards.

URL: https://launchpad.net/gnome-radio
License: GNU GPL v2
Notes: Comes in stable (gnome-radio 3.22.0) versions

GNOME Radio redesign, actualize and modernize the original gnomeradio
application that according to its developer, is not under active
development anymore since 2008.

To listen to FM radio in Debian and Ubuntu users could use the original
application Gnomeradio.
Now original gnomeradio package has been removed from Debian development
repository due to the lack of a maintainer.
The source package gnomeradio is at 1.8-2 in Ubuntu, whose development was
provided by me through some patches.

Thanks to those who reported/fixed this bug.

Out of curiosity, was this a bug in the 4.4.0-59 kernel itself or in
Ubuntu's packaging of the kernel, i.e. were other (non-Ubuntu) Linux
users impacted ?

[Bug 1665306] [NEW] Install spice-vdagent if installing witih QXL video driver

2017-02-16 Thread Christophe de Dinechin
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu as a guest in virt-manager is not comfortable, because
the spice-vdagent is not installed by default on Ubuntu. Among the side
effects: the mouse remains captured within the guest until you hit
Control-Alt; there is no copy-paste support; resizing the window does
not change the guest resolution; etc.

One solution would be to enable spice-vdagent by default. If that is not
acceptable, one hint that spice-vdagent may be useful is when the
installer runs on QXL video. It is likely to indicate that the
installation is in a virtual machine, and that installing spice-vdagent
would be useful.
