[Bug 1656875] Re: fanatic enable/disable docker broken with docker.io >= 1.12

2017-02-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-fan - 0.9.2

---
ubuntu-fan (0.9.2) xenial; urgency=medium

  * fanatic: Support new (>=1.12) docker network management commands
(LP: #1656875).
  * dep8: Added ADT test case for docker. This also required a minor change
to the test setup in fanatic to suppress output to stderr.

[Bug 1661265] Re: [regression] sched_setscheduler denied with Qt/QML applications

2017-02-16 Thread Dave Morley
This was tested as part of 2.22.2 testing. I installed the snaps that
jamie recommended and ensured there were no issues seen. Tested with
Codebreakers, telegram and some kde app incase they triggered it.

[Bug 1659934] Re: Audex needs to be ported to Qt5/KF5 or removed from zesty archive

2017-02-16 Thread Rik Mills
Upstream maintainer (also of K3B) said that:

"K3b will be released as KDE Applications 17.04.0! and it is able to rip
CD ;-)"

which is true, and where development is moving now.

So seems Audex is falling by the wayside.

[Bug 1665394] [NEW] DNS resolution of irc.freenode.net or chat.freenode.net fails

2017-02-16 Thread Pirouette Cacahuète
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 16.10 (from a base install upgraded several times),
with proposed-updates enabled. Recently, I started having problems where
I am unable to resolve irc.freenode.net.

This is unrelated to the networks. I have been able to confirm that
systemd-resolved is able to perform the name resolution. Yet,
getaddrinfo() call returns -EAI_AGAIN error.

This can be reproduced using getent:
> $ getent ahosts irc.freenode.net
> $

While testing v4 or v6 directly returns something valid:
> $ getent ahostsv4 irc.freenode.net
> 38.229.70.22STREAM chat.freenode.net
> 38.229.70.22DGRAM

> 130.239.18.119 DGRAM

dpkg.log shows there has been some upgrade of systemd recently, though I
cannot tell for sure if that directly relates to the problem, I do use
suspend-to-ram a lot and reboot not that often.

A workaround is to remove "[NOTFOUND=return] resolve" from

visible so far).

[Bug 1663263] Re: lshw run on Hyper-V VM hangs system

2017-02-16 Thread Stephen Barrie
On further investigation this issue appears to be specific to SCSI DVD
drives. Hyper-V uses SCSI drives by default in Generation 2 VMs whereas
VMware always uses IDE for the DVD drive, so the problem may be the SCSI
driver rather than something that is specific to Hyper-V.

[Bug 1393578] Re: Subpixel order not included in Mir display information

2017-02-16 Thread Gerry Boland
I've hacked qtmir to print the subpixel hint that Mir is supplying.

http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/24007971/ is my output. First I run a simple
qml demo shell as nested server under USC, get "0" hint.

Then I run again as host server, get a hint "1 = RGB".

The "Subpixel hint" output of the 2 cases do not match for me, hence the
complaint.

You may need to run the following from a terminal:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package or updates.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as "Confirmed"

[Bug 1662281] Re: Firefox shows post-crash page after reboot or logoff

2017-02-16 Thread Oliver-henshaw
This is probably due to gnome-session (mis-)behaviour:

My test client gets a "Die" message from the xsm server and within a few
tens of milliseconds receives an ICE io error (as the server has quit or
broken the connection). According to
https://www.x.org/releases/X11R7.7/doc/libSM/SMlib.html#Sending_a_Die_Message
the server should wait for clients to close the connection.

[Bug 1665394] Re: DNS resolution of irc.freenode.net or chat.freenode.net fails

2017-02-16 Thread Schiggn
Perhaps this is an issue in iputils/ping if the response is to big. You
can try this with normal ping command too.

ping c1 chat.freeenode.net results in a "ping: chat.freenode.net:
Temporary failure in name resolution"

Using expicit -4 or -6 does work instead.

Workaround as mentioned above: switch "resolve [!UNAVAIL=return]" to
"resolve [UNAVAIL=return]" or place "resolve [!UNAVAIL=return]" after
"dns".

[Bug 1665419] [NEW] error messages refer to non-existent /etc/init.d/vboxdrv

2017-02-16 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Public bug reported:

It seems that the suggested fix for a number of issues is "sudo
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup" (bug 1466046 being just one example, the
Debian wiki at
https://wiki.debian.org/VirtualBox#Kernel_driver_not_installed_.28rc.3D-1908.29
another). The referenced file does not exist, but it supposedly exists
in packages shipped by Oracle. Looks like the file might be missing
unintentionally from the Debian and Ubuntu packages.

For reference sake, I do have /dev/vboxdrv. dpkg-reconfiguring
virtualbox-dkms succeeds but does not change the situation.

https://wiki.debian.org/VirtualBox#Kernel_driver_not_installed_.28rc.3D-1908.29
another). The referenced file does not exist, but it supposedly exists
in packages shipped by Oracle. Looks like the file might be missing
unintentionally from the Debian and Ubuntu packages.

[Bug 1665424] [NEW] virtualbox does not warn appropriately when kernel bitness and binary bitness differ

2017-02-16 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Public bug reported:

You cannot run an i386 virtualbox binary on an amd64 kernel with
otherwise mostly i386 userland. I was told by upstream that binary
bitness for the virtualhost binary package and kernel bitness have to be
the same.

The error message when attempting to start an image in that scenario is
probably not helpful in pinpointing the problem even for a technical
person.

==
RTR3InitEx failed with rc=-1912 (rc=-1912)

The VirtualBox kernel modules do not match this version of VirtualBox.
The installation of VirtualBox was apparently not successful. Executing

'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'

may correct this. Make sure that you do not mix the OSE version and the
PUEL version of VirtualBox.

Details:
where: supR3HardenedMainInitRuntime
what: 4
VERR_VM_DRIVER_VERSION_MISMATCH (-1912) - The installed support driver doesn't
match the version of the user.
==

The suggested fix is unlikely to bring the user any closer to a
resolution even if bug 1665419 wouldn't stop it dead in its tracks.

What I think needs to happen is to collaborate with upstream to make the
error message more meaning- and helpful.

[Bug 1665410] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2017-02-16 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From lagar...@br.ibm.com 2017-02-16 13:02 EDT---
Hi Ryan,

The culprit here seems to be the usage of a non-conventional disk name
in the guest XML. For instance:

The target has dev='vd2' and this is causing the issue. You might be
able to reproduce this with any domain XML you already have, just
changing the target dev name.

[Bug 1665408] Re: winecfg does not work on 32 bit wine directory

2017-02-16 Thread jre
With these commands you were still using ~/.wine. You have to either export
WINEPREFIX or specify it for every command.
Further I think I've seen Wine complaining about "~" in the past, so maybe
either use $HOME or the path directly.

To rule out any issues with existing profiles, let's start fresh again,
and make sure that the first command is done and the wineserver had time
to shut down between the commands. So what happens for:

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/home/john/.wine32-test wine wineboot
sleep 10
WINEPREFIX=/home/john/.wine32-test winecfg

[Bug 1664248] Re: Can't disable a backports pocket when deploying Ubuntu 14.04

2017-02-16 Thread Christian Reis
Tom, Andres is exploring because we're trying to pull apart two issues
here.

First, MAAS should definitely be able to deploy Ubuntu even when pointed
at a local mirror that has chosen to not sync specified components and
pockets. If that is failing it is a serious bug. However, the data
you've provided in this bug hasn't provided us with a definitive answer
on this one -- there might be some odd interaction with the proxy, for
instance.

If this works, then you can immediately address your use case by just
using a correctly configured mirror. You don't need to set any option in
MAAS-- it should just work, regardless of what is in the configured
sources.list in the ephemeral environment or deployed node.

Second, as Andres is pointing out, the option to restrict certain
pockets (i.e. backports) in the MAAS UI should work with Xenial (but not
Trusty). This would lead MAAS to configuring its sources.list
appropriately, which would mean even if the mirror was complete no
packages would be requested. That facility however doesn't support
excluding components (i.e. multiverse) today.

It's still unclear to me if you've isolated the problem to the first or
second problem above, but that would be super helpful.

[Bug 1662589] Re: Touchpad not working correctly after kernel upgrade

2017-02-16 Thread Joseph Salisbury
There are a few commits between -56 and -57 that could have introduced
this regression:

6909b9d Input: ALPS - set DualPoint flag for 74 03 28 devices
08166fa Input: ALPS - allow touchsticks to report pressure
02645a4 Input: ALPS - handle 0-pressure 1F events
89e4686 Input: ALPS - add touchstick support for SS5 hardware

I'll start a kernel bisect and post a test kernel shortly.

[Bug 1575655] Re: the network indicator shows the wrong status

2017-02-16 Thread basem kheyar
Hi,

After testing some more, restarting the networkmanager does fix the
issue for me too. However, it doesn't make sense, to me, to restart the
whole service to fix this issue. Restarting the applet makes more
sense to me.

I have found a way to automatically restart nm-applet each time the
machine resumes from a suspend.

Disclaimer!!
((This is only a (hack/temporary-fix/work-around) as it doesn't address the
cause of the issue.))

Short description of solution:
I created a script that kills nm-applet at suspend|hibernate, then starts
another nm-applet on resume|thaw. Then I placed it in (etc/pm/sleed.d) and
named it "90_Restart_nm-applet" and made it executable.

Specific steps taken:
1- Download attached script (90_Restart_nm-applet)
2- Open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
5- type in "sudo nautilus" without the quotations and enter your password.

**PLEASE DO NOT DO ANYTHING, OTHER THAN THE FOLLOWING STEPS , IN
THIS FILE MANAGER WINDOW (NAUTILUS), INCLUDING DELETING, RENAMING, AND
MOVING FILES. IT WILL MESS WITH THE OWNERSHIP OF AND ACCESS TO
FILES** <-- headache to track fix.

6- navigate to the downloaded script (90_Restart_nm-applet) and copy it. It is
probably in your downloads folder in /Home//Downloads.
7- navigate to /etc/pm/sleep.d
8- paste (90_Restart_nm-applet) there, then right click it, and select
properties.
9- go to (Permissions) tab and check (Allow executing file as program).
10- close properties menu and file manager (Nautilus)
done.

Someone might be able to write terminal commands to do this, I don't
know how to.

Now the nm-applet should restart whenever the system resumes from a
suspend.

Few things to note:
a- I'm running UBUNTU 16.10 with a UNITY 7.5.0. Kernel... I posted my info in a
precious comment...
b- Because of (a), the address at which your script to be placed might be
different than mine. Do some research. I found mine in an answer by (fader)
here:
"http://askubuntu.com/questions/92218/how-to-execute-a-command-after-resume-from-suspend;
<--- a good place to start.

Please keep in mind that this doesn't fix the underlying issue, it is
only a work-around. As such, it may create more issues than the one it
fixes.

Let me know if anymore information is needed,

Basem.

P.S
I have a feeling that I put comment in the wrong format for this website. Let
me know how to fix it, Thanks.

[Bug 1664248] Re: Can't disable a backports pocket when deploying Ubuntu 14.04

2017-02-16 Thread Tom Mullaney
Christian,

I agree the original screenshot that I supplied has an additional error
with the proxy that I have resolved. And I think I have conclusively
narrowed it down to the mirror. When I have the multiverse folder on
the mirror it works when I don't it fails. I supplied Michael Iatrou
with more logs directly, and would prefer not to post them publicly if
possible. That said if you need them and can't get them from Michael I
can try and mask sensitive information and post them.

[Bug 1656605] Re: No server console display after Grub screen until fully booted and pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1/8

2017-02-16 Thread Joseph Salisbury
This may have been introduced by commit 4ae5bd9. However, I'd first
like to see if this is expected and not a bug.

Can you perform the following:

edit /etc/default/grub and remove quiet and splash from the line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT

So the line will be:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""

After changing that line, run the following:
sudo update-grub and reboot.

[Bug 1656281] Re: UbuntuKVM: Packaging: Update Wok, Gingerbase, Ginger, and Kimchi to version 2.3.

Frederic,

Given the current schedule of Zesty release
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ZestyZapus/ReleaseSchedule), we would need a
feature freeze exception going forward to push these packages to the
archive.

An alternative delivery mechanism for these apps would be through the
snap store and snaps. Please follow this link https://snapcraft.io/ to
learn more about how to create snaps and deliver them through the snap
store.

[Bug 1663924] Re: filterCaseSensitivity doesn't work when used in SortFilterModel

2017-02-16 Thread Christian Dywan
The property can't work: QSortFilterProxyModel.sortCaseSensitivity
doesn't change the pattern and the superclass doesn't have any signals,
making it impossible to manually update the results.

We 'could' consider overriding the property to make this work. However,
I'm not sure it's particularly useful: in your example, new RegExp("^" +
searchTerms, "i") achieves the same as setting the superclass property,
as does using a literal regular expression such as /^B/i.
