Seeing the changes it's not clear if this needs an FFe in the end or
not. I do see that some strings have been added to the .po file, but I
don't see if those come from modifications of the source in this version
or not. All in all, the new version seems sane from the release POV so

We tracked one test failure in ppa7 version to debug libraries not
having symbols, but I see ppa10 already have them. I don't see it
mentioned in Changelog. What happened?
(obj_convert test injects crashes in some specific places using gdb and
see if consecutive open handles such pool correctly)
Ok, this is a big change but I'd also prefer this happening before the
release instead of afterwards. Please perform some upgrade-testing on
the packages built in a PPA and if things look good, we can approve this
FFe.

Vagrant version on Xenial does not support upgraded Virtualbox
This bug seems to be the closest match to what I'm experiencing. I'm
hitting similar trouble on desktop/graphical Ubuntu on some Dell
laptops.
Ubuntu 16.04 AMD64.
Happening on kernel versions 4.13.0-38 and 4.4.0-116.
I've tried version 4.4.0-117 as posted by @kamalmostafa - same result.
