$ prime-select intel # It will generate /lib/moprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia.conf
$ prime-select nvidia # It will removed /lib/moprobe.d/blacklist-
nvidia.conf and add nvidia-kms.conf
$ update-initramfs -u
After that when you switch to intel, it won't load the nvidia driver

Every time I install a new package I do a "apt full-upgrade" before
updating, and this time before installing a new package I tried "do-
release-upgrade" before installing the "linux-generic" and it worked,
for whatever reason I wasn't being able to update now I can, so whoever
fixed the issue.
I was about to install Ubuntu 18.10 into laptop (MSI GT62VR 7RE
Dominator Pro) using USB installation media. It was able to boot up and
start installation until the installation halted with a black screen.
After I rebooted I got the same error about missing mmx64.efi.
Windows 10 boots up fine
This has been fixed in emacs25 of as at least 18.10 (and possibly 18.04,
but I didn't check to confirm).
