I want to use AMD SME (memory encryption) on ubuntu 20.04.
Hardware: ASRock B450 Pro4, Ryzen 3600, 16GB memory.
Unfortunately, when I use the `mem_encrypt=on` cmdline option, the
system completely freezes when grub tries to load kernel/initramfs.
Black screen, so unfortunate
I was able to reproduce this with a plugin from LSP Plugins. That said,
the Ardour team is on the verge of releasing Ardour 6.0, and is not
interested in fixing bugs in 5.12. This means this bug probably will see
no response, but I will check with the team and report back.

I booted into Ubuntu 18.04 with a 4.15 kernel and had similar issues. It
has been running steady for several days now off the powered USB hub
though so I'm pretty satisfied.
It doesn't seem like that change is relevant to this issue, although

because the UbuntuDrivers module reports manual_install=True for the
device. Diving into the ubuntu-drivers-common code, it invokes "modinfo
vboxguest" and if the return value is 0, it considers the module to be
