[Bug 1889472] Re: mysql-server-5.7 postinst fails when in read-only mode

2020-08-10 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for the discussion.

Since 8.0 isn't affected, I'm marking this as Fix Released with tasks
for Xenial and Bionic only.

I'm on the fence about the suitability for your patch - as the packaging
isn't intended to support HA configurations, so maintaining the patch
incurs unnecessary maintenance burden.

However, as 8.0 isn't affected, the maintenance would only be necessary
for Xenial and Bionic so would be minimal in this particular case, and
your patch is non-invasive and relatively trivial.

If you're prepared to take that maintenance on, I'll support you landing
SRUs for this (Bionic only if that's all you want, or Bionic and Xenial
if you require Xenial). I'd expect you to follow the full SRU procedure
please, apart for any necessary review and sponsorship which my team
will take on for you.

[Bug 1889472] Re: mysql-server-5.7 postinst fails when in read-only mode

2020-08-10 Thread Robie Basak
Invalid because on second thought, src:mysql-5.7 doesn't actually exist
in Focal or Groovy.

I should add that another reason I'm supportive of an SRU in principle
is that working around is quite obtuse (it would need a switch from
mysql-server-5.7 to mysql-server-core-5.7 only which is not trivial).

[Bug 1823496] Re: update-notifier crash with message

2020-08-10 Thread Akbarkhon Variskhanov
This issue causes the "System program problem detected" dialogue on
every boot up on my end, similar to bugs #794757 and #95727. Checking
the syslog after a boot up or killing and launching update-notifier via
Terminal reveals the same Gtk-Message.

It has started appearing very recently (after 20.04.1 release), which
leads me to believe that it is preventing my system from recognizing the
new version to upgrade to.

[Bug 1809682] Re: "systemctl enable corosync-qdevice.service" fails

2020-08-10 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Hum, looks like systemd used your sysv scripts (perhaps because of
upgrades) and it had issues because they had no runlevels by default...
and your workaround was to use the systemd unit, which is the one used
by default...

### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: corosync-qdevice
# Required-Start: $remote_fs $syslog corosync
# Required-Stop:$remote_fs $syslog corosync
# Default-Start:
# Default-Stop: 0 1 6
# Short-Description:Corosync Qdevice daemon
# Description: Starts and stops Corosync Qdevice daemon.
### END INIT INFO

and indeed the sysv scripts don't have default start runlevels.

I should fix this.

[Bug 1890230] Re: arm64 ipxe package isn't an arm64 build

2020-08-10 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
@xinliang,

Thanks a lot for this feedback.

@paelzer and I have created a task for this release cycle to
"reorganize" the ipxe/grub-ipxe packages and provide the aarch64 builds.
We will try to merge into Debian first, and then sync it from there..
this would fix -groovy.

Depending on how things go with groovy, we can try to create a new
package grub-ipxe-aarch64 for Focal or something like it, since we need
to obey rules defined by https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
for released versions.

I'll document everything in this bug for your awareness.

[Bug 1891017] [NEW] [RM] uninstallable due to dependency issues

2020-08-10 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Public bug reported:

Hi,
while tracking down issues in update-excuses I found gspiceui.

That is on version 1.2.36+dfsg-1 in Ubuntu and Debian.
But uninstallable at the moment.

It turns out that it was related to the guile-2.0 removal that removed
src:geda-gef.
But it seems it has no chance to work as the bug [9] to get geda-gaf updated
stalled and found now package owner and will be removed [10].

The scheduled removal was filed against gspiceui [11] but might happen
only after Groovy is in FF.

If there is a fix to gspiceui it will auto-sync - until then we should
remove since it is unusable as-is.

[Bug 1891011] Re: [RM] please remove icingaweb2-module-x509 as it is uninstallable

2020-08-10 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Please do note that currently this is only in groovy-proposed but not

So chances are that this doesn't need to be removed (just don't let it migrate
to -release is enough).

But OTOH it is polluting update-excuses - so I was filing this to either
remove OR learn that we don't touch those cases.

[Bug 1891023] Re: mrs: ftbfs with GCC-10

2020-08-10 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
FYI: Debian removal info https://tracker.debian.org/news/1166233/mrs-
removed-from-testing/

For the sake of being sure if this really is (likely) a gcc-10 issue as
reported in Debian I built it the same source in Focal and Groovy.

Focal: works
Groovy: fails

Upstream:
indeed no new version since 2014 => ftp://ftp.cmbi.umcn.nl/pub/software/mrs/
