[Bug 1928526] [NEW] DHCP Cluster crashes randomly
Public bug reported: We're running in to a case that's very similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/dhcp/+bug/1872118 where the DHCP server periodically crashes. Crashes sometimes take days to happen on relatively busy DHCP servers. There's not an obvious reason, however the logs end up showing (hostnames and email address changed slightly to keep meaning, but not disclose everything). [Bug 1928519] Re: It seems you have modified the contents of "/etc/update-manager/release-upgrades". Would you like to add the contents of it to your bug report?
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-life on April 29, 2021. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it any more. But if you are then please upgrade to the latest Ubuntu version and re-test. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in. You've filed the bug against `ubuntu-release-upgrader` ; the tool which would upgrade your 16.04/xenial system to 18.04/bionic. If your system was just installed 10 days ago, I'd recommend installing with supported media (particularly Ubuntu 20.04 LTS). A Support site would I suspect be appropriate at getting around this issue quickly, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community- support/709 Please also note; as 16.04 is now no longer in standard support, many sites don't provide support unless your question is specific to aiding you to move to a supported release of Ubuntu. FYI: 16.04 means the 2016-April release of Ubuntu which had 5 years of standard support ending 2021-April. https://fridge.ubuntu.com/2021/03/13/extended-security-maintenance-for- ubuntu-16-04-xenial-xerus-begins-april-30-2021/ ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1928519 Title: It seems you have modified the contents of "/etc/update-manager /release-upgrades". [Bug 1926932] Re: Error message too short to understand what is wrong
@Daniel: I'm not reporting a bug about the error displayed in the image I attached. I'm saying that the message bubble was too small to display the error, and even if I clicked the message bubble, it didn't expand to display the full error message. Moreover, the bubble appeared over some folders, and temporarily blocked my view of the files/folders in Nautilus. @Chris. I ran appport-collect for this bug just now. When I received your message about running apport-collect, I didn't have a clue about how it'd work and what the point of it was. So I didn't run it until now. I've been through the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs page innumerable times, and I assure you, it's extremely frustrating to read through all that text and not be able to figure out why y'all wrote all that, when all I wanted to do was to just search if the bug is already reported, and then just file a bug report. I could volunteer to improve the UX of that wiki page. But Perhaps what's more important, is to not require users to read through all of that, and maybe have a web page that would take them through a step-by-step process of what they want to achieve. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926932 Title: Error message too short to understand what is wrong To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1926932/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also, I've marked bug 1928208 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1928208) as a duplicate of this bug. 1928208 has a better image description of how the problem could be solved, by displaying the message higher up. [Bug 1926932] Re: Error message too short to understand what is wrong
@Daniel. I ran the command in command #4. That's a lot of sensitive info, in my opinion, to post on a public forum. Besides, this bug is about the display of an error message, and does not require all that info. For any future bug reports that do require such information, it'd help to either have a private mode of submitting info, which allows only a limited number of legit people to view the details, or to request the user for specific portions of the journalctl output, explaining why that info is required.

Just to leave relevant information for ppl. reaching this page from google (like me ;) ) I had similar issue after running normal dist-upgrade on 20.04 which was working fine since months, which is an "old" upgraded system (originally started as Ubuntu 06 ;) ), dual-boot with Windows 10 which I had recently (b/o this year) moved to a NVMe SSD (which required me to switch to EFI boot). After adding this entry, doing 'sudo mount -a' and re-running dist- upgrade everything worked fine. [Bug 1920730] Re: gstoraster: Ghostscript runs to long while converting djvu files to Xerox`s 3210 format
Thank you very much for the sample file. I have printed it into a PDF file from evince to be able to do further tests manually on the command line. This way I have done some tests and found out that adding "-dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=XXX -dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=YYY" with any non-zero values for width and height works (giving the correct page count), small values make it even faster. So for now the best command line is gs -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=bbox -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=1 -dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=1 sample2.pdf 2>&1 | grep -c HiResBoundingBox and this command line is independent of the PPD file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1920730 Title: gstoraster: Ghostscript runs to long while converting djvu files to Xerox`s 3210 format To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1920730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1928455] [NEW] system doesn't boot after patch w/ bug 1925010
Public bug reported: Ubuntu doesn't boot on my system after the patch yesterday which includes the fix for this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim/+bug/1925010 Not sure if it's directly related to that bug, or something else. Is there some sort of boot logging I can enable? Or have my system stop rebooting itself in a loop, and just display errors? Ubuntu also reset my grub config, which has been filed as a bug multiple times, yet never fixed. It would be really great if Ubuntu stopped doing that. Ubuntu 21.04, up to date as of yesterday. [Bug 1928458] [NEW] inconsistent and unneeded password prompts
Public bug reported: On several occasions I have experienced that gnome-keyring prompts to be unlocked when I believe it should not. * I have Spotify installed as a .deb. When starting Spotify, on some occasions gnome-keyring prompts to be unlocked, on others not. This behaviour has been observed both when gnome-keyring has been unlocked in advance as well as when not. I have not added my Spotify password to gnome-keyring. * same behaviour as described above when starting Lutris. Source worked in october 2020 and possible breaks after upgrade from 20.04.1 to 20.04.2. I checked MWE in fresh latest 20.04.02 and the error appears.
