[Bug 1927255] Re: [USB-Audio - RODECaster Pro, playback] Sound is distorted (20.04)

2021-11-20 Thread Heidi Harding
Similar to #4 I am using the Rodecaster pro for the XLR mic input as
this works fine. I connected a 3.5 mm TRS male to male cable from my
Dell Latitude's output (which outputs audio just fine) and connected it
to the mobile phone input on the rodecaster pro. That way I can still
use the headphone output from the rodecaster. It works pretty well and
it means I don't have to keep swapping headphones around just for the
one machine that has this issue.

2021-11-20 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for reporting.

I was unable to reproduce this bug, iotop installed without any issues
for me. I suspect that this and bug 1951578 might have some common root
cause. Could you please attach the output from `apt policy iotop` to see
if it knows about the package at all? Also could you check `software-
properties-gtk` if you have at least main and universe archives enabled?

[Bug 1951578] Re: unable to install apt-offline

2021-11-20 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.

I was able to install apt-offline on my Ubuntu 20.04 system, so this
should work. Could you please run `sudo apt update` to make sure the
package list is up to date, and if the issue persists, please attach the
output of `apt policy apt-offline`. (If you for instance have just
installed this system, it needs a check for updates to be able to find
other packages)

Btw, when reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. This will
automatically add debug information such as package version numbers. You
can learn more about this functionality at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1951674] [NEW] Incorrectly warns "No EFI System Partition was found" on BIOS/MBR

2021-11-20 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
Public bug reported:

While installing Ubuntu MATE 22.04 under BIOS mode, I select manual
partitioning and I create an MBR disk with a single ext4 partition. Then
I get a dialog with this warning:

"""
Go back to the menu and resume partitioning?

No EFI System Partition was found. This system will likely not be able
to boot successfully, and the installation process may fail.

Please go back and add an EFI System Partition, or continue at your own risk.
"""

That dialog is inappropriate there and may scare inexperienced users.
Ubiquity could check that /sys/firmware/efi doesn't exist, and that the
disk is formatted with MBR, and not display that dialog.
