That said, this is an issue that comes up again & again, and detracts

There's no reason the gnome power manager shouldn't have a checkbox to
enable/disable suspend/hibernate so that new users can easily find the

Thanks for the quick response on this. I deleted serveral exsisting
partitions (formerly Suse 10.1 partitions) using the partitioning tool in
the install program. A complete re-boot of the system fixed the problem and

- do a dist-upgrade with the 6.06 CD-ROM or by Internet;

above), then it went away once I moved to 2.6.15-26-k7, but now appears

Default Dapper version of RB. DAAP sharing works perfectly. It is not
the problem.
Problem is: RB doesn't list any other shares. It does share, but cannot
play what others share.

If the system is freezing, it's not a debian-installer bug. You can tell
whether it's a complete system freeze by pressing Alt-F2 and seeing if
you get to a mostly-black screen offering to start a shell (Alt-F1
returns to the installer user interface).

If the system is freezing, it isn't a ubiquity bug; a kernel bug is more
likely, although trying to burn the CD at a lower speed or cleaning your
CD drive may well also help. (If garbage is being read off the CD, it
doesn't matter how bug-free the system is ...)

Yes, it does. I think those files are taken from the current Debian
kernel. I made a diff between the files in mkvmlinuz and the files from
the current edgy 2.6.17 kernel and they are all the same. It works for
now, and will probably also work in the future it the Ubuntu kernel and
the Debian kerne
