[Bug 95241] Re: firefox - the connection was reset - Fiesty
I just tried Allan's suggestion and changed the user-agent string in Windows firefox to the Linux firefox user-agent string which replicated the problem. Changing the user-agent string in Linux firefox to Windows firefox user-agent string fixed the problem which means that the problem is the proxy-server itself. I then played around with the user-agent string and this may seem strange but whenever I had the ist string combination in the (for example Ubuntu-feisty) the proxy server would fail. [Bug 98896] Core dump when setting up new user.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: aqbanking16-qt-wizard When I try to set up a new user with the AqBanking QT Wizard, it dumps core. The bahavior is repeatable. Steps for me to reproduce: Start the wizard User - New user HBCI backend Setup PIN/TAN Enter bank and user information (tried with two different banks, both show the same behavior) When I click next on the dialog that tells me it will now fetch the SSL certificate, the UI freezes for a few seconds and then crashes. Re: [Bug 95866] Re: install partition manager doesn't show sda
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 84964 *** Gabriel, Thanks for your message. Indeed it seems like a separate problem with SATA drives. It looks like the previous fix fixed the Asus boards but not the Abit obes (Abit AB9 pro to be exact). I just downloaded the current build of 7.04 beat dated March 29. I got the same errors as the ones I described in my previous mail. I looked inside my machine and I noticed that none of my drives are hooked to the JMicron JMB363 controller. I have three SATA drives: one CD/DVD ROM and two 160GB disks. They all sit on the Intel ICH8R controller. Apparently the CD drive works fine and the hard drives do not. The Abit pro board has the total of 9 SATA connectors. Six of them are ICH8R, two JMicron and one Silicon Image. I suppose I can connect the hard drives to the JMicron controller and see what happens but the stuff should work for the Intel controller anyway. Re: [Bug 95977] Re: Orca install error when upgrading to Fiesty
Yes, I had the latest updates. It may have been a freak thing. I did the standard upgrade from 6.10 to Feisty using the command line and then that brought up the update thing with the upgrade button that I clicked on. It was using the us repositories. I fixed it by uninstalling orca and gnopericus. Then I ran the apt-get build-dep gnome-orca. Then I installed orca again. It should be noted that the version of Orca I was using before the upgrade was a newer build. The main reason I am worried about this is that other people may not be as able as me at trouble shooting and running the latest version of Orca is important as it fixes bugs in earlier versions. The computer is now happily running 2.18 and I will be installing 2.19 on it soon. -- Beth Koenig [EMAIL PROTECTED] Director of Deaf Blind Services Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center http://www.deafadvocacy.org/dbs Health, safety, and productivity are the cornerstones of independence. On Fri, 30 Mar 2007, Martin Pitt wrote: Asheesh, that would be possible, but the mere process of grabbing, compressing, and writing a huge core dump on a machine with little memory and/or slow CPU is a pain. Maybe don't compress it, but write it raw to disk, and compress it at send time, at the rate of the network connection (therefore it won't be a CPU hog). Alternately you could use LZOP compression at any time (even before send) if you wanted; it's extremely fast and probably would give you adequate compression ratios for these sorts of data. Does apport use gzip or bzip2 now? If so, LZOP would be a huge CPU time savings. I'm sorry, that should have been Prior to 1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.7, I had 1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.6 installed (upgraded on March, 13th). That happens when one copy'n'pastes to often... I set up the interfaces as I was used in Dapper (I heared people complaining about the same problem in Edgy) but my internet didnt work (I use wifi as only internet connection and eth0 for internet sharing). I found out although I configured and ticked the tick besides ra0 interface the interface was down, sudo ifup ra0 solved it for short time, however after a reset it stopped working, running: sudo ifup ra0 gave me: ifup: interface ra0 already configured When I tried stopping and restarting ra0 sudo ifdown ra0 gave: SIOCDELRT: No such process After uninstalling network-manager it works. + + My wifi card is CN-WF511 using RaLink RT 2500 chipset. -- Network-manager and wifi problems https://launchpad.net/bugs/98716 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
