Just for the record: among the three external hard drives I have access
to, feisty can eject two Cypress CY7C68300C-56PVXC based external hard
drives smoothly; it cannot eject the one based on Initio INIC-1530L.
Perhaps it is a bug in the usb_storage driver?

It seems to be not only a ubuntu kernel bug it is a generally bug in the
2.6.20 kernel. I tried the 2.6.20 kernel on my old kubuntu 6.10 and it
doesn't work too. Yesterday I build a new 2.6.21 kernel on my system and
it works. So I guess the new 2.6.21 kernel will also work on ubuntu 7.04

The above test was performed on a dvd burner which is installed as slave
in my computer. I also installed a dvd burner which is installed as
master on the smae bus (I dont know if thes informations are usefull in
my case ) . In the last one ( the burner ) exaile can read the cdrom - I
dont upload
That is not realy a good solution . I've dont that couple of times. It will
eventiualy break all there is to break.
I've installed debian and rebooted couple of times , so far with no problems.
But i still would like to know what happend and why .
