[Bug 192316] [NEW] Application launchers show incorrect icon when dragged and dropped from Add to Panel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel When I drag and drop an item from the Application Launcher section of the Add to Panel window, instead of showing the application's icon on the new launcher, it shows a yellow diamond with a question mark on it. When I hover my mouse over it, it shows (using the example of Calculator): (null) Open '/usr/share/applications/gcalctool.desktop' When you add the launcher using the Add button in the Add to Panel window, the launcher is added correctly. Steps to reproduce: 1. Right-click an empty space in the panel and select Add to Panel... 2. Click Application Launcher 3. Drag an application to the panel Expected result: The application button displays in the panel with the application's icon, and the name of the application in the tooltip Actual result: A yellow diamond with a question mark in it is displayed in the panel, and the tooltip displays (null) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Feb 16 00:13:05 2008 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: gnome-panel 1:2.21.91-0ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: i386 SourcePackage: gnome-panel Uname: Linux ryan-desktop 2.6.24-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 14 20:40:45 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- Application launchers show incorrect icon when dragged and dropped from Add to Panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192316 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 174403] Re: 7.10 /usr/lib/cups/backend/hal failed
Exactly the same problem as mark above. My printers are Epson DX3800 and Brother HL-1250. Both worked under Feisty. Under Gutsy they are detected and set up. Try to print a test page and I get the error /usr/lib/cups/backend/hal failed. These printers work normally under SUSE 10.3 and MacOSX on the same computer so this is down to Ubuntu software or its configuration. As Mark says it works if I open up permissions on the usb devices but this is not the full solution. You wrote in the upstream bug that the problem was fixed for you with only an update to mesa, which would seem to imply that this doesn't need fixing in the kernel (despite your comment in https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/189260/comments/6). That would have been a much more useful piece of information to post in this bug, rather than bickering about bug status values. [Bug 138583] Re: [Gutsy] Kernel Oops after calling synce-serial-start
Hello Leann, Just a small update to make things clear. The OOPS by itself doesn't happen anymore on 2.6.24 (Hardy) because the following patch is applied to the standard 2.6.24 kernel. http://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=12918action=view This patch could be applied right now to 2.6.22 (Gusty) and it would prevent the OOPS reported above. Then there is a second problem which is to make RNDIS USB devices work with Linux. It is my understanding that at the moment neither 2.6.22 nor 2.6.24 would work with such devices. Since the synce patch (pointed above) was not correct I proposed another one which should soon be merged to linux kernel main tree. [Bug 92482] Re: NumLock gets enabled unexpectedly on my laptop
I confirm what Naveen says about the numlockx behavior in my T42 with ubuntu feisty. I found a not-so-elegant solution. If you go to System - Preferences - Keyboard - Layouts - Keyboard model, I have a Generic 105-key (Intl) PC. Change that to IBM ThinkPad 560Z/600/600E/A22E, Intl. Now this gets very tricky. Press Shift+NumLk then type numlockx toggle (type this before Shift+NumLk in the terminal, otherwise the keys with number won't work) and now your numlock keys work. Shift+NumLk again and you recover the normal keyboar state but the led is still on. I tried this several time and it not always work in the same way. Sometimes you don't need the Shift+NumLk before the 'numlockx toggle' command... It is still anoying. [Bug 192343] Re: New upstream release (1.1.5)
This bug was fixed in the package ffmpegthumbnailer - 1.1.5-0ubuntu1 --- ffmpegthumbnailer (1.1.5-0ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low * New upstream release (LP: #192343): - support for large files (files larger than 2Gb) - seeking in h264 files is enabled again, use -w option from commandline to disable this if you have 100% cpu usage (using older versions of ffmpeg) - Give up reading packets from a file after a number of attempts to avoid a hanging ffmpegthumbnailer for certain file types (noticed on h264 and ac3 in vob container). -- Lionel Le Folgoc [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat, 16 Feb 2008 11:42:48 +0100 ** Changed in: ffmpegthumbnailer (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Fix Released -- New upstream release (1.1.5) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192343 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 192031] Re: [hardy] Please re-enable OFX support
Ok, I don't merge the 2.2.3-2 version from debian, instead I'm adding the changes from Thomas (Debian Maintainer) to -1ubuntu2 (which will become now -1ubuntu3). Why? Because there are more changes then only my FTBFS fix. And reintroducing ofx support we can do directly. For the record, for the next cycle it should be a goal to push all changes back to debian.
