[Bug 45842] Re: nfs shares not mounted at startup
Just a question since I have never done any [start-script] patching before: Should I run the command patch -p0 sysvinit_2.86.ds1-14.1ubuntu37.debdiff (or -p or -p1?) in a root konsole, and all will be fixed? This concerns Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy laptops suffering from not having nfs wlan-disks automounted at startup (the network nicely autoconnects through Wicd, super!). [Bug 144560] Re: doesn't prompt for certificate
The way I see it the option Always ask should _always ask_ what certificate to use each and every time I try to log into the site. That is not the way FF works and not what the button suggests. Firefox works with sessions. It always asks *for every session*. You can easily start a new session by restarting FF as you already found out. What you expect would be a confirmation for every connection. For a single page with say 15 elements, that means 15 (!) confirmations. I don't think anybody in their right mind would seriously expect or desire this behaviour. [Bug 134660] Re: Ralink rt2400 / rt2500 / rt2570 / rt61 / rt73 do not work out of the box in Gutsy/Hardy
After a few days of testing I want to tell to all of us struggling with a hardy kernel on top of gutsy that the best way to go is to install hardy: everything works much better in hardy than in gutsy with updated kernel, wicd a must AFAICT. I also have to say that things are working better than before but we're not there yet: the hardware dies after a few hours online, while it used to die after a bunch of minutes before; this is an improvement but things are not working as they should and some more work has to be done. This is in regard of the rt73 dongle, still no luck with the rt2570 as of today. Regarding the linux-backports-modules-hardy package: I installed this too but did not notice any benefit, how do I make sure the kernel is loading the backport modules instead of the default ones? Going to the /lib/modules directory shows that both modules are installed in different locations and I really do not know how to verify which generation of module is being loaded. [Bug 219487] [NEW] Typing blocks external mouse
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics Release: Hardy i386 up to date 19th April 2008 Hardware: Macbook Pro sec generation (core2duo, which has a built in usb trackpad) and any external usb mouse Expected: To be able to use the keyboard and external mouse at the same time. Actual: When pressing keys on the keyboard (apart from shift, ctrl, etc...) the mouse is paused for around a second. Detailed: When typing the mouse is disabled for around a second. I am assuming this is due to synaptics disabling the trackpad and taking the mouse out with it. This is a problem because it means I can't play any games that require the mouse and the keyboard at the same time (ie. Nexuiz, Alien Arena, etc...). It is also a productivity pain as I often use the keyboard to switch desktops and then the mouse for an application on the desktop I have switched to. As a fix either the default needs to be to disable mouse clicks with touchpad as default and then remove the mouse pause, have some kind of degree of separation between the mouse and trackpad for this setting, or have an option in the mouse/trackpad config to enable/disable this. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Typing blocks external mouse https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 219488] [NEW] [Hardy RC Live CD] X server crashes on dragging video window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: casper I am using Hardy Live CD on the Dell Inspiron E1405 (2GB of RAM), integrated intel graphics (945GM). The X server crashed completely when I did this: 1. Opened Examples folder 2. Opened experience ubuntu.ogg using Totem 3. The movie started to play flawlessly (audio video) 4. While playing, I tried to drag the Totem window and X server crashed (almost black screen with some white dots, no audio, no input devices working) I have noticed that CD drive was working while playing the movie. Re: [Bug 144560] Re: doesn't prompt for certificate
Ah, I understand now. I thought a session was the login-session to the page that I was trying to access. That's what the confusion comes from. I didn't think a session was the current running firefox process. I still think the wording of the button is somewhat unfortunate. Thanks for the explanation. 2008/4/19, Rolf Leggewie [EMAIL PROTECTED]: The way I see it the option Always ask should _always ask_ what certificate to use each and every time I try to log into the site. Closing, I don't think anybody will or should put effort into changing the current behaviour. ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: mozilla-firefox = firefox Status: New = Won't Fix ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Rolf Leggewie (r0lf) -- doesn't prompt for certificate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144560 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Håll koll på oss på http://haeger.org -- doesn't prompt for certificate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144560 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
