I believe this is probably related to Bug #46520 in which IDE disks and
SATA disks are handled in differing orders between OS and BIOS/grub.
This bug is easy enough to work around in exactly the way you did in all
cases, but it really would be good to get it fixed, as this seems to
affect everyone

like not an -ati bug particularly, but without some deeper debug work
it's uncertain what is failing. xserver maybe?

Sorry for not seeing this bug earlier.
The OpenOffice.org included in Ubuntu is the go-oo version. The go-oo
version is the official Sun version with a lot of patches added to it.
Most linux distributions actually ship the go-oo version without making
a big fuss about it.

I have a Toshiba Tecra A9, with the Nvidia NVS 130M. I just loaded
Ubuntu 8.10 Release candidate, and bringing back the video after
suspending is still an issue. All I get is a blank screen. This is an
issue for both the open source driver and the binary driver.

Sorry, silly question: how do I get opera from the repos? I can't find
it even if I add the partner repos.
As to this issue, I would really support this request. Opera is
currently much more stable than Firefox, especially for flash
applications.

Laconica (http://laconi.ca/) is a Free Software alternative to Twitter.
Among other features, it supports the Twitter API exactly.
Since many Free Software supporters use Laconica, it would be good to
include support for it in this plasm
It works now. I had to re-configure NetworkManager. Now it correctly detects
the modem, and I can connect with a single click (or set it to auto-connect).
Who should I notify to have the correct lines added to the 10-modem.fdi file,
for everyone else to use?

Smells a little like 277578, but the crash is different. My home
directory is mounted from an NFS server, and I seem to get a NULL
pointer deref when I do anything in the filesystem:

it apears as if this can happen even with even numbers ie, 1-6 on double
sided pages with 2 pages per side.

Ibex uses 2.24.1.
I did the same thing except I restricted my print to pages to 1-5, and
printed double sided. One page had on one side the terminal page for the
ending copy on the obverse, and the starting page on the reverse side.
