[Bug 762600] [NEW] Autofs5 dismount folders that are in use
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: autofs5 Description:Ubuntu 10.10 Release:10.10 autofs5 Architecture: amd64 Version: 5.0.5-0ubuntu2 autofs5 umounts a folder while it is open and in use with nautilus. The folder disappears while working in it and the nautilus window is closed then. Only hook a audioplayer or midnight commander or a shell path to the autofs folder keep a stable connection. I don't know if this is feature for the --timeout option or a bug? Hi ironstorm, thanks for taking the time to file this bug report and help us make Ubuntu better! I've just done some tests with this, and I cannot confirm the issue on natty.. I created a PHP file in the webroot of apache: ?php $ch = curl_init(); Then hit it without curl installed.. and I got a 500 error as I would expect. I then installed php5-curl, and refreshed the page. As soon as the libapache2-mod-php5 trigger reloaded apache, the page started returning a 200. This isn't actually a bug. pinentry-gtk2 is *supposed* to grab the keyboard unless the --no-global-grab flag is passed. After login, the unity interface appeared but the launcher bar on the left side of the screen was just black. When I move the mouse over it, little white triangles illuminate, and when the program at that position is running, there is a persistent white triangle. I see that a cryptsetup package has been uploaded to the freeze queue that implements solution #1. This is a significant regression for any plymouth theme *except* for the details theme, because the echo of the first line will never be shown at all when a graphical theme is in use. Since cryptsetup has no knowledge of what plymouth theme is in use, a solution needs to be found here that works equally well for text and graphical plymouth themes. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: emacs23 Upgraded from ubuntu 10.10 to ubuntu 11.04. Now most of the specific emacs modes menus (cedet, gud, etc.) are missing from the menu bar. Thinking this was perhaps due to unity I've tested this in plain gnome and the problem remains. Of course there are emacs commands to perform most of these menus actions but might I say that this is a serious annoyance when you're not familiar with these commands. I am having the same issue, on a 4x AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 (5867MB RAM) desktop with a ATI Radeon HD 4550. I think the issue may have sprung up somewhere between the karmic - maverick, since I'd recorded some pretty sweet vids back on karmic (sorry, only realized the problem now, when I had some new vids to record). hawthornso23's comment is interesting because I am using a PS3 eye camera, a USB device with an in-built mic, but also have a separate mic that I generally use. However I use ALSA, not Pulse (does bad things to my setup) -- does anyone have any tips on how to disable the PS3 mic? [Bug 762496] [NEW] atheros wifi cards cause kernel panic when connecting to wpa2 secured wifi networks
Public bug reported: I have discovered a very serious bug with the kernel on ubuntu natty 64bit . upon doing some digging on the upstream irc i was told there was a patch which fixed this issue from upstream. when connecting to wpa networks this issue doesnt arise its only specific to wpa2. [Bug 762501] [NEW] Latest updates broke WLAN connectivity
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wpasupplicant Latest updates to network-manager made the network-manager applet show up again in notification area, but broke WLAN connectivity. Error for all networks working before: wrong password. I am not sure this is network manager related or some WLAN parts related, but I see it with wicd, ifup (aka /etc/network/interfaces defined networks). Maybe something changed in wpa-supplicant breaking things for all network-management tools. PS: searching for wpa gives back wpa-supplicant for package name. Selecting this leads to error wpa-supplicant does not exist in Ubuntu. --- a package wpasupplicant exists. Seems there is something wrong with the search-list giving back package names not accepted by other parts?! Steps to reproduce: 1) Open Empathy 2) Minimize empathy 3) wait for a new message notification to show up on unity launcher 4) Right click on launcher and select Quit 5) Application will close but counter value will still be visible. It seems that you're not pressing the keys in the right way. The way you are doing it, shows the desktop but in the mean time opens the Dash as well, which requires Escape Key to close. Hold the Super-key and then while holding it press D.
