[Bug 783951] Re: Automatically add libvirt dnsmasq to resolv.conf
I agree it would be nice to have this fully automatic. Note that if you are using dhcp for your host's network, you can put a line into /etc/dhcp/dchpclient.conf like: prepend domain-name-servers 192.168.122.1; which will ensure that 192.168.122.1 is listed as your first nameserver. The shortcoming compared to what you are asking for is that you do need to know the dnsmasq server's ip address in advance, but of course you configure this (using 'virsh net-edit default') anyway. [Bug 708493] Re: cannot login anymore: Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer
In my case it was due to an Intrusion Detection System I have exactly the same problem. upgrade to 11.04 then ssh to the university I work won't work any more. both client and server say connection reset by peer, limiting the cipher length have it work. Details ares here : http://schplurtz.free.fr/wiki/envrac/reseau-bizbiz-ssh Solution : The Intrusion Detection System detects one of the TCP packets as : Malformed Key exchange init Message - SSH protocol violation and then it sends two reset packets to both the client and server. each of them then says : connection reset by peer The security man removed the rule on the IDS, and then ssh works again ! magic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/708493 Title: cannot login anymore: Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. If this does resolve your bug please set its status to Invalid. Thanks in advance! [This is an automated message. Re: [Bug 766242] Re: lp:ubuntu/cloud-init is not buildable by bzr-builder
Excerpts from James Westby's message of Tue May 17 02:08:47 UTC 2011: On Mon, 16 May 2011 22:18:37 -, Clint Byrum cl...@fewbar.com wrote: There's not much we can do if the source package patches conflicts directly with upstream. The build log is quite clear which patches won't apply, so they can be selectively removed if some need to stay. Ultimately you have 4 different versions of the code: 1 upstream .orig 2 upstream .orig + packaging patches 3 upstream NEW + packaging patches 4 upstream NEW Picking which one to build could be simpler, thats true. But the problem is that there's some conflicting, duplicated delta between 2 and 3 that must be hand merged because the patches are not applied, so the common version is unknown. I stand by my original assessment, that while its not easy, its necessary to be able to be clear about which patches you want to apply. Is there some confusion here? This case isn't about updating the package to a new upstream release. This is just about rebuilding the current Ubuntu package, so what's in debian/patches should apply, otherwise the packaging is broken. What is causing the issue is that debuild and bzr-builder apply the quilt patches in slightly different ways, with bzr-builder failing if the patches are already applied and there is no .pc directory, and debuild no failing in that case. It's my opinion that when using bzr + dpkg v3 (quilt), the bzr tree should have patches applied and a .pc directory, as that allows you to directly work with quilt when getting the branch. However, given that debuild accepts the current branch as input, bzr-builder probably should too, as it isn't really doing anything different. This is yet another case where the mismatch between quilt patches and bzr bites us, so I'd like for it to go away by natively supporting changes against a base in bzr. I see, apologies to those I misunderstood. So yes, I think bzr-builder should employ the same standards as debuild, since it is the de-facto way packages are built, while builder is trying to emulate it. It would also make sense that bzr-buildpackage would warn the user that their package has changes applied, but no .pc directory. Even better would be if it could actually *create* that .pc directory, as I am somewhat confused as to how to do that simply. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/766242 Title: lp:ubuntu/cloud-init is not buildable by bzr-builder -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 783819] [NEW] Copied podcasts don't show up on iPod. This has been reported as fixed, yet still persists on v2.0
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee I'm running Natty 11.04 and trying to get into Banshee and see what it can do. There is a serious problem with the way it handles podcasts on an iPod. I'd imported other podcasts using gPodder and then wanted to import music from Banshee. Everything's fine. Then I go my podcasts (Main Menu Podcasts) only to find that it says I have nothing there. I reconnect and in Banshee everything looks fine. However, now I can't get gPodder to recognize that the iPod is connected. GTKPod says everything is there, but another (and wrong) playlist has been created called Podcasts. Now I have two. So, what if I download the podcasts in Banshee and transfer them in Banshee? Same problem! This bug is four years old (https://bugs.launchpad.net/banshee/+bug/140489) and according to Launchpad has already been fixed when, in fact, it has not. [Bug 734883] Re: iPod won't mount
I can confirm that this isn't an issue with all HFS+ devices, as I'm able to mount an external hard drive with HFS+ filesystems without any issues. That also addresses DrKay's concerns that HFS+ support may have dropped out of the kernel (I would think that dropping HFS support would be bigger news :p ). I wouldn't really consider reformatting a 160gb iPod and copying all of my music back onto it a workaround, especially when a kernel downgrade sounds like it would be easier. I'm guessing this will be addressed with a kernel release in the near future though. In the meantime, I'll settle for listening to music on my iPod instead of my laptop. -Jon -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734883 Title: iPod won't mount -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
