Settings made in 'View' menu such as 'Dynamic word wrap', 'Show line
numbers' and other aren't saved between Kate starts. It's independent on
Session mechanism i.e. if one save session or don't save session the
result is the same: settings are lost on the next startup. In Kate
I have added some information from the same machine untroduced this bug but it
might not be reflective as I have reinstalled this system with an EXT3
partition.
I guess that you can at least get some hardware information may be related to
this issue.

It`s a standard phenomenon since I upgraded to Karmic (and now Lucid) and
ext4, that I get some corrupted photographs!! If I copy 100 photos from my
camera or card reader, definitely the 3-4 of them will be corrupted.
This means that /usr/share/locale/dz/LC_MESSAGES is a file and not a
directory. This is not the fault of dpkg and is likely a user problem or
some sort of filesystem corruption. There's nothing that we can do at
the dpkg level and unless you know who/what replaced that directory with
a file, there'
